Membership at Mountainview
We are delighted to receive new members in to our church family! Membership occurs in one of several ways (see below). As well, there is an introduction to the congregation during a worship service so as to be recognized and welcomed. Membership is a public declaration of your commitment to Christ and His church. Members of Mountainview Church are recognized by baptism or by public profession of faith.
...You May Join as a New Christian
If you have become a Christian by receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour and have attended the New Member Orientation sessions, you may join our church by adult baptism. If you have been baptized before, you would join by a public profession of your faith. The Pastor, along with a Pastoral Elders will hear your testimony of faith, after which baptism or profession of faith would take place during a worship service. Children of new Christians are received by baptism either upon their own confession of faith in Jesus Christ and/or upon the authority of their parents, depending on their age and Christian maturity.
...You May Join as a Member of Another Christian Church
There are two steps in this process:
- The Pastor, and/or Pastoral Elders will hear your testimony of faith and life as a Christian.
- You may then be admitted to membership
- by public profession of faith
- by public reaffirmation of faith.
You are then welcomed into the fellowship of Mountainview Church.
