Loblaws cards – If you have a Loblaws card and are wondering what to do with it, feel free to activate it and drop it off for Christine Winter to help cover the cost of snacks at camp this summer.

65+ers final lunch.  Our next get together is on Thursday the 10th of May. Come on out and join us at JJ’s on Docks at 15 Lake St. in Grimsby for lunch. A lovely place and good food.  Reservations made for noon. Come and join us. Look for directions in your mail slot. Hope to see many of you there.

Starting Tuesday evening May 8 at 6pm, the Landscaping Small Group will be starting another season of lawn and garden maintenance of the church grounds. This will be our 18th season of service in this venture.  Anyone wishing to join our small group for an evening of fellowship and a good workout, please contact Art Koornneef at 905-309-7934 or Dick Vermeer at 905-945-8430. Or even better, show up on Tuesday evening at 6pm prepared to work.

Middle School end of year bonfire party! Saturday May 26th, 7 - 9:30pm @ Jason and Melissa Vanderwier’s. We will be having a bonfire and a game of Capture the Flag. Parents please drop off and pick up your son/daughter at the Vanderwier's. Those entering grade 6 in September are welcome to attend as well. 

THE WEEK OF GUIDED PRAYER (WOGP), Praying Our Story: Registration continues today for participation in the Week of Guided Prayer (May 27 - June 2).  To register for the retreat or to speak to someone about the retreat, please visit the registration table in the front lobby, in front of the Library, before or after the service.

Youth Yard Sale - Spring cleaning is here! Do you have stuff that you no longer use but is still in good shape?  The Mountainview youth are planning a fundraiser yard sale for July 7th and would like you to start putting stuff aside for them to donate to their sale. Grimsby Life Centre 2018 LIFE CHANGE CAMPAIGN -- Next week begins our annual Life Change baby-bottle campaign. This six-week campaign runs between Mothers and Father’s Day, it is one of our most significant fund raising campaigns that under girds the Life Centres in Grimsby and Smithville.  We exist solely by the generosity of our community businesses, churches, family and individuals who believe in helping their neighbours. Please partner with us and take a baby bottle with you on Mother’s Day to be returned on Father’s Day. Thank you so much for your willingness to participate.

We are excited to be hosting SERVE Niagara again this year at Beacon Christian School in St Catharines from July 14-21, and we are seeking PRAYER PARTNERS to keep our Host Team and the youth participants in prayer both leading up to and during the week of SERVE. Use Your Motorhome/RV for World Renew/CRCNA Ministry - World Renew and the CRCNA are commissioning Jeremy Benjamin (Zeyl) to travel across Canada (June-Oct) in a project that will join the voices of thousands of CRC members on the song "I Am Not My Own". This journey is a fundraiser for World Renew and CRC local ministries, and we are looking for help so that Jeremy can travel with his family! EduDeo GO! is a cross-Canada walk/run/bike/swim challenge from April 1 – June 30, 2018 to build classrooms for Belen Christian School in the Dominican Republic. Smithville Christian High School presents “Harvey” This Pulitzer Prize winning play is an exceptionally complex piece of writing. There is nothing trivial about its themes, which include society's perennial need to crush individuals who do not conform to majority thinking and our inability to listen to our fellow humans. CPJ's AGM & Toronto Book Launch: CPJ will host its Annual General Meeting and a book launch of our new publication, Journeys to Justice on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Mary Ward Centre, Toronto. Joe Gunn, CPJ's executive director, will introduce the book, and we will hear readings and commentary from a panel of contributors to the book, including Moira Hutchinson, Peter Noteboom, John Olthuis, Jennifer Henry, Leah Watkiss, and David Pfrimmer. The business meeting begins at 6:30pm, and the book launch event starts at 7:30pm. Copies of Journeys to Justice will be available for purchase on site, with signings by attending contributors.
