Offering Prayers

Dorothy Veenhof, peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday August 15th at 96 years of age. We lift up Dorothy’s family, former members Heather (Henry) Kikkert, and extended family and friends as they mourn her passing and celebrate her life. We know God walks alongside them. May they experience His peace, strength, comfort and care in the weeks ahead.

We pray for the country of Columbia which was hit devastating earthquake. We pray for resources, safety, and stamina (emotionally and physically) for First Responders and those providing disaster relief. We pray for all those missing loved ones will find comfort and have closure. We pray for wisdom and compassion from local leaders and the worldwide community. May God have mercy.

Take a moment to pray for the pastor(s) and ministry leaders within our congregation. We pray they have found some rest and relaxation this summer. We pray for excitement and a renewed sense of calling for the upcoming ministry year.

Please join us in holding up in prayer those who manage daily burdens of one kind or another (chronic or acute illness, grief, mental health, loneliness, loss of abilities). We think specifically this week of:  the Vangameren family, Pastor Brady & Shannon DeBoer and family, Gerry & Pauline Bijsma, Henny Draaistra, Shirley Bergshoeff, Rina Van Tellingen, Lydia Koomans, and Johanna Ubbens. May God give them each what they stand in need of. May God give wisdom and strength to those who walk alongside them. We also pray for those who are dealing with issues of which we are not aware.

Giving Thanks

We give thanks for the SOCO Beach project, that is wrapping up this week. We ask for God’s continual blessing and guidance for the Young Adults who have for the last 4 months stretched and grown in faith and intentional Christian community living.

We give thanks for Typer Couperus and his continued work with GAIN. Tyler has recently married and besides becoming a husband is also now the faither of two little girls. He has moved to Texas but will be continuing his work with GAIN as usual. We pray for God’s blessing on this new family unit as they adjust to all the changes this brings.
