Church Family - February 15th, 2026

Offering Prayers

Fred (& Michelle) Niemeyer’s mother, Lydia, passed away in Sarnia in the very early morning of February 11th.  Our condolences and prayers are with Fred & Michell and Nicole with the loss of their mother and grandmother and also with the extended Niemeyer family. May God comfort those who mourn.

Along with Abby Lobert, chaplain at Mohawk College, a team is going to Windsor, North Carolina on a World Renew Disaster Relief Trip Feb 14-22 with 10 young adults - a mixture of SOCO alum, Mohawk students and a friend from Talbot St. CRC.  Can you see who from Mountainview is joining them?

Stay tuned for photos of our trip in the next SoCo Newsletter.  Pray for easy border crossing, safe travels and meaningful connections both within our group and with those we will be working alongside.  May we have eyes to see Christ in each other, in those we serve and within the Windsor community. Read the most recent SoCo Newsletter linked here for updates and prayer requests from that ministry.

We pray for anyone connected to the devastating violence this past week in Tumbler Ridge.  We pray for comfort for the families who have lost loved ones, smooth recovery for those injured, and community healing.  May God’s strength, healing, grace and peace abound to the Tumbler Ridge community.

As we reflect on Family Day, we give thanks for the opportunity to celebrate our families and to spend with them and also for a break from work.  At the same time, we know that family relationships are often complicated, messy, and even a source of significant pain for people.  We give thanks for relationships while praying for grace, strength and wisdom to walk the sometimes-difficult roads we travel together.

Please join us in holding up in prayer those who manage daily burdens of one kind or another (chronic or acute illness, grief, mental health, loss of abilities). We think specifically this week of:  Bertha Vermeer, Klaas & Nellie Brobbel, Rita Klomps, Dorothy Veenhof, Hetty Romkema, and Annie Boekestyn  May God give them each what they stand in need of. May God give wisdom and strength to those who walk alongside them. We also pray for those who are dealing with issues of which we are not aware.

Giving Thanks

The Bridge is a faith-based mission in downtown Niagara Falls, strengthening food and housing security across the Niagara Region. They serve a daily, nutritious, no-cost breakfast to their unhoused and underhoused neighbours; operate a region-wide food recovery program that supports 25+ community organizations; and offer personal support and community development initiatives that foster dignity and belonging.  At its core, The Bridge strives to be a life-affirming community of hope and connection—reflecting the compassion and way of Jesus—working in partnership with the City, the Region, faith communities, businesses, and people from every walk of life who share a deep concern for those experiencing hunger, homelessness, and the challenges connected to them.  We give thanks for this ministry and the Pastor that leads it, Steve DeBoer, one of our missionaries. We pray for the DIG Team members as they complete their work and travel home this weekend. We look forward to worshiping together from a distance this Sunday. Technology can enable amazing things!  We give thanks for Geoff & Rita’s work, alongside their family.  We pray for a continued blessing on DIG in Guatemala.  We pray for the encouragement, connections, resources, wisdom, strength, health, perseverance, patience, compassion and care they need to continue forward in growing relationships and bringing God’s shalom.
