Lenten Guided Prayer 2026

Since 2017 Mountainview has offer a Week of Guided Prayer. A retreat in the middle of our busy lives. Then we switched it up a bit and offered both a weekly and a monthly Guided Prayer Retreat. The interest was so great, we had to close registration early. To accommodate the growing number of people interested, last year we offered a Lenten Guided Prayer through the six weeks of Lent where people can participate in a small group. It was so well received that we will be offering it again this year, with a new option.

You can participate in three different ways:
1. In your own Small Group
2. In a short-term Small Group
3. Sign up with a trusted friend for a more personal experience.

What is it?

Opening oneself to God through praying scriptures and sharing that experience with those in your small group or a friend each week throughout Lent.

The Lenten Guided Prayer involves:
Spending time at home praying scripture and then meeting with your small group or trusted friend to share your prayer experience. You will be provided with each weekly handout as well as some information on how to pray scripture and how to journal your experiences. 

When

The Lenten Guided Prayer will take place through the six weeks of Lent 2026.

Starting Sunday February 22, Pastor Erick will introduce Lectio Divinia (praying scripture) during his message.

The next five weeks, you will have a time of personal prayer, and a time of sharing your prayer experience. Pastor Erick will close out the week with a message based on the Bible verses you have been praying.

This will take us up to Palm Sunday on March 29. After which we will have our regular Good Friday and Easter Sunday services.
