December 7th A.M. – The Bridge – Steve DeBoer (Niagara Falls): The Bridge exists to strengthen food security in Niagara Falls and across the Niagara Region. Their work includes:
1. Providing a nutritious daily breakfast for people living on or near the street;
2. Operating a Niagara-wide food recovery network that supports more than 25 community organizations and schools,
3. Offering personal skills development and community-building programs.
The Bridge is committed to being a community of connection and support—working collaboratively with the City, Region, faith communities, businesses, not-for-profits, and all who have a heart for those experiencing homelessness and the challenges surrounding it. December 14th A.M. – Grimsby Benevolent Fund: Your contribution will help provide people who are at a disadvantage to obtain food, clothing, and emergency assistance. GBF Community Services assists individuals and households in meeting their basic needs. Through our programs, we have been helping the Grimsby community in achieving self-sufficiency for more than 56 years. This care is provided by donors and volunteers. Please give generously to help those in need in your community.
December 21st A.M. – Benevolence - Refugee Sponsorship: Mountainview has a long history of sponsoring refugee families. World Renew has submitted paperwork to Immigration Canada on behalf of the Deacons to sponsor the Said family, originally from Somalia. Their family was forced to flee to Uganda after immediate family members were murdered, and their farm was taken. Our goal is to relocate the Said family out of the refugee camp and into a new life in Canada. Immigration Canada will be interviewing the Said family in the spring. Mountainview must provide proof that all required funds for sponsorship (approximately $75,000) is held in trust when the interview takes place (the funds will be paid out for resettlement over a two-year period). Approximately $8,000.00 has been raised to date. We are confident that our love for God and our neighbour will move and inspire us to raise the remaining funds needed to begin the work that will change the life of the Said family. The Deacons of Mountainview and the Said family thank you for your generous support
December 24th P.M. – Christmas Eve – Grimsby Life Centre is a ministry that is committed to providing help for the physical, social, and mental well-being of those in crisis. This loving care is demonstrated through on-going counseling, support and care. All services are free and confidential, and we depend solely on donations from individuals, churches, businesses, and fund-raising events. Thank-you for your support and prayers.
