MOUNTAINVIEW NEWS

Pastor Fred’s Retirement Project:
Rather than receiving gifts at retirement, I’m asking for something else. On the weekend of August 18th, I am participating in a Triadventure: running 15 km., canoeing across Lake Simcoe and cycling around 140 km. I am doing this, with others, to raise money.

Fifteen years ago, a number of people from Toronto were visiting an orphanage in Uganda. They had a vision. With a few others, they committed to provide each of the 52 children there with an education. This would include university, college, trade school or an apprentice program; depending on the child. Most of the 52 children are now productively working; blessing their neighbours and their country.

All the money for this commitment has been raised through one fund raising event per year - the Triadventure. This year the goal is to raise enough money to complete the commitment. Will you help me make this possible? You can donate online by going to triforafrica.org, click on the donate button and then click on my name. This same website provides you with more information about the project. Thank you!!

HELP! The Landscaping Group is in need of some extra help to trim the massive hedge that runs along the east side of the property. We would like to put a team together to do this on Saturday, July 6th. If you are willing and able to help contact Art Koornneef @ 905-309-7934. If you have a gas or battery trimmer you could loan the group, let him know as well. Thanks.

PRAYER WALK: we'll meet Saturday, July 6th at Tim's across from Coles at 8:30 am. walking/driving until 9:30am. Please contact Max Meijer with any questions or if you wish to join us. E-mail: mmeijer.3@gmail.com or call: 905-945-9374.

CHILDCARE HELP NEEDED: Erin Pankratz, neighbours with Matt & Maria Oliveira, is suffering from debilitating joint pain that’s severely affecting her mobility. Erin and her husband Nick have two children age 2 and 4. Erin is at the point where she requires daily help to care for her children because her mobility is significantly limited. Please pray that the pain in her joints will be released and for her spirits to be lifted, in Jesus' name. They are a Christian family and Erin has attended Mountainview's coffee break program in the past. Additionally, please contact Erin at 905-570-6052 if you know of someone who would be able to provide daytime help with childcare 2-3 days per week throughout the summer starting June 21.

Prayer Friends: Since the onset in November, we continue to have our Prayer Vigil every Thursday morning, 8:00 am, rain or shine, for about 20 mins. Doctors and nurses that pass by coming into work nod or thank us with their approval. There are small tell-tale signs that Save WLMH is happening and we are grateful.  We do not know what God’s direction in all of this, but we remain grateful.
We realize that many of you may not be able to attend but we encourage you and your church to pray with us as Save WLMH unfolds.  Our Heavenly Father holds the future. Blessings to you as we celebrate Father’s Day this weekend knowing that our Heavenly Father has all the attributes that we so long to have. In Service,
George Prins

Family Faith Formation Tip - As you walk in a woods or a park with kids, practice “ambling.” Slow down, and look around you. Marvel at God’s beautiful creation together. Take a really close look at a flower or a tree. Back home, remember what you saw together and give thanks for the good gift of God’s wondrous creation. (Faith Formation Ministries; crcna.org/FaithFormation).
