MOUNTAINVIEW NEWS

Safe Church Conversation: The past 5-6 months have been difficult for our congregation. We feel pain and confusion. Join us on Saturday, December 1st for a conversation with Judy Cook, Christian Counsellor and Therapist (retired) to speak into those concerns.
Council invites members of Mountainview for coffee and a continental breakfast at 8:30 am. At 9:00 am we will begin with an introduction to issues, followed by round table conversations and then by a Question & Answer Period, in which Judy Cook will respond to questions from the congregation (which she will have received before-hand). Following the Q&A period, Judy will close our session in a restorative blessing exercise. This is an opportunity to ask questions, to receive answers and to learn!
Child care will be provided. Please register the name & ages of children attending with Christine, cwinter@mountainviewcrc.org, so we have adequate supervision arranged. Please mark this date on your calendars and prayerfully consider joining your church family in this communal conversation.

PRAYER QUILTS:  Mountainview’s "Sisters in Stitches" group has on on-going ministry whereby we present a Prayer Quilt to those in our community who are experiencing physical, emotional, spiritual, or some other life crisis. These quilts have blessed many people over the past years. They are physical reminders of the comfort of God’s presence and the warmth of the Church’s love and prayers. As a small group, we meet throughout the year to enjoy fellowship, prayer and sharing with one another as we plan and create quilts that provide care, comfort and encouragement to the hurting.
YOU CAN HELP:  If you have a passion for piecing quilts, prayer, and serving other people, please come and join our wonderful ministry. We are also in need of DONATIONS: We have been blessed by donations in the past but our supply is depleting. If you are able to give fabric (needs to be 100 percent cotton), batting, thread, etc, it would be greatly appreciated! Your gift can be placed in the marked box under the mail slots. You can also help with a monetary donation to purchase the needed items. There are donation envelopes provided at the Welcome Center for you to use. Cheques should be made out to “Mountainview CRC” with “Sisters in Stitches” written on the memo line. These can be placed in the offering bag or the mail slot by the main office. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS about this ministry or would like more information, please contact Kathy Koudys - 905-563-4364. Thank you!

SHALOM MANOR AND GARDENS:
Worship Attendance at Shalom:
Shalom is in a unique (and blessed) position where we have an overabundance of visitors at our Sunday worship services!  Overcrowding is an ongoing issue and your cooperation will ensure that Residents may attend worship in a safe and pleasant manner. Therefore, we are requesting families attending worship with their loved ones to limit themselves to 2 guests per week and to arrive early so that you can be easily seated with your loved one – if the group is larger, we request that they sit in an overflow area as opposed to the main Auditorium. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in making worship a special time for all Residents!
