PROFESSION OF FAITH CLASS: Are you thinking of possibly making public profession of faith in Mountainview, allowing you to become a Full Member of the Congregation? Becoming a member acknowledges and celebrates your relationship with Jesus and His church and provides you with a spiritual family: that will be there to support you and encourage you in your walk with Christ; with a place to discover and use your gifts, joining forces and pooling resources with other Christians in order to make greater impact on our community and in the world for Jesus.

I will be offering a five-week Public Profession of Faith class Tuesday evenings beginning on May 7th @ 7pm. Join us! Coffee will be ready. J                                                                                         Pastor Sid

Mountainview Library has some more new books and would like to highlight them over the next few weeks. A full list of new spring books has been placed in each mail slot and is available at the Welcome Centre. This week we highlight a biography:

Through My Father’s Eyes by Franklin Graham
While most people know Billy Graham as America’s pastor, Franklin Graham knew him in a different way, as a dad.  No one can speak more authoritatively on the subject of Billy Graham’s legacy than a son who grew up in the shadow of his father’s life.

CRCNA MINISTRIES:

Family Faith Formation Tip - “As God’s family we need to pause at important moments to acknowledge God’s presence and faithfulness and celebrate as a community how God is at work. One of the ways to do that is by marking the faith milestones in our lives” (Celebrating the Milestones of Faith, FaithAliveResources.org). What milestones are coming up for your family, and how could you celebrate them in ways that recognize God’s goodness? (Faith Formation Ministries; crcna.org/FaithFormation)

D-Day Memories - Do you remember D-Day, the Allied invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944? Do you know someone who does? In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of this important event during World War II, the CRC News plans to include an article about it in our June 5 news email. Can you share your memories or put us in contact with veterans or survivors of the Normandy landings? Email cmeehan@crcna.org.

Seeking News Writers From Your Region - Every week and every month Christian Reformed congregations are celebrating milestones, launching new programs, recognizing amazing members, and finding solutions to struggles of doing ministry in our 21-century context. The Banner aims to communicate those stories and we need writers. Are you one? Our news editor would love to work with you to find and tell the stories from your region to the wider church. Inquire at news@thebanner.org today!

Pray for Inspire 2019 - Inspire 2019 is a conference to connect people from across the 1000+ churches in the Christian Reformed Church for three days of worship, workshops, speakers, and conversation. As we plan and prepare for this event, happening August 1-3 in Windsor, Ont., please join us in praying for the event and all who will attend. This week, please pray for the technical aspects of the event. Pray that as the tech team plans and prepares, all will go smoothly, and that sound systems, presentations, communications tools, lights, instruments, and all other tech related elements will work well during the whole event, allowing the focus to be on the messages shared through these systems.
