FAMILY WORSHIP Starting TODAY - On the 1st Sunday of each month children will begin Worship in the sanctuary WITH their Parents. Families will be together, as we unravel the new month's Theme and Life Application. As One body, we will learn together, share together and praise together. This is also the perfect opportunity for you to invite that neighbour you've been thinking about! We Are One!
NEIGHBOURHOOD POTLUCKS: Neighbourhoods are one way we, as a church body, can connect with fellow Mountainview members who live near us. Each Neighbourhood will be invited to attend a potluck lunch following the morning service. This is an opportunity to get to know the other members in your Neighbourhood, enjoy good food and fellowship together. Our regular coffee social will still be held while preparations are underway for the luncheon! Mark your calendar to join us, the dates are as follows: Neighbourhood 1 ~ Jan 27; Neighbourhood 2 ~ February 24th; Neighbourhood 3 ~ February 3rd; Neighbourhood 4 ~ March 3rd.

Middle School and Youth will begin again next week!
Middle School will be going through the "An Encounter with God" prayer stations.
Youth will be starting a new 3 week lesson series on Sexual Exploitation, the first week we will "Define Sexual Exploitation".
65+ers! Please note there will be no meeting this month. We will plan something for a future date. Stay tuned. In the meantime, if any interested members have some suggestions for future activities and plans, we welcome your suggestions!
Re-Group: Our Re-Group 2019 will take place online through the month of January. Simply go to the Mountainview website, scroll across and double click ‘events’. Scroll down and double click ‘Re-Group 2019’. There you will find a number of groups (new and established) that are ready to welcome you. Check it out! Find a group that interests you and whose meeting time fits into your schedule.
Every Sunday in January there will be someone at the welcome center after the morning worship service to help you to register, if needed. As many experienced during our Cluster Group event, life is better connected! If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Fred.

The January Series of Calvin College, one of the nations leading lecture and cultural arts series, is coming to the Canadian office of the CRCNA in Burlington, from Jan. 3 - Jan. 23, 2019. Nicholas Kristof, a columnist for the New York Times and winner of two Pulitzer Prizes in his 30 years of covering the world; Mary Robinson, former president of Ireland; Jenna Bush Hager, a contributing correspondent on NBC's Today Show; and Rachael Denhollander, known internationally as the first woman to file a police report and speak publicly against Larry Nassar, are among the impressive lineup of speakers.
The experts will offer informed perspectives on a wide range of today’s most relevant topics, including polarization in politics, immigration, sexual abuse, and climate justice, among many others. St. Johns Presbyterian Seniors Stride Series – Transitioning into retirement --- We are very excited to announce a series of small group sessions intended specifically for our senior population. A THURSDAY morning designed to discuss senior issues hosted at St. John’s Presbyterian Church 10 Mountain Street in Grimsby beginning on THURSDAY, January 17th, 2019. Gerry McCall, from the Grimsby Life Centre will be leading this discussion group on eight consecutive Thursday mornings running from 10:30 AM – 12:00 noon. Senior’s Stride deals with various topics all centered on the dynamics of the aging process. Sessions will include factors in aging such as – family relationships, retirement, what you thought and what you got, health and well being, dignity, independence and enjoying your senior years. Cost? Donations are always welcome, but not necessary. If you would like to join the Senior Stride Series, registration is required by Monday, January 14, 2019. YOUNG ADULTS! - Join other wonderful folks aged 18-30ish from across Ontario for the 2019 Young Adult Winter Retreat on January 25-27, at Maranatha CRC in Woodstock! This year the theme is “Something more Profound: Standing in Awe of God” and we will look at the balance of intellect and emotion in our faith and how this can influence our feelings of awe.
