Happening in Grimsby - Volunteers Needed! On Saturday, June 22, Mountainview members are encouraged to love Grimsby by participating and volunteering at the "Happening in Grimsby." We hope to have a 10' x 10' booth downtown where we would hand out freezies or sno-cones (TBD) and connect with people in our community. If you are able to help out at this booth for a 1 or 2 hour time slot between 10:00-4:00, please contact Christine Winter at cwinter@mountainviewcrc.org. Mountainview will also be a shuttle stop to downtown. There is also opportunity for you to volunteer a few hours on Saturday, helping out in the kids zone (Carnival) or other areas. To sign up to volunteer, please go to https://www.happeningingrimsby.ca/participate

Pastor Fred’s Retirement Project:
Rather than receiving gifts at retirement, I’m asking for something else. On the weekend of August 18th, I am participating in a Triadventure: running 15 km., canoeing across Lake Simcoe and cycling around 140 km. I am doing this, with others, to raise money.
Fifteen years ago, a number of people from Toronto were visiting an orphanage in Uganda. They had a vision. With a few others, they committed to provide each of the 52 children there with an education. This would include university, college, trade school or an apprentice program; depending on the child. Most of the 52 children are now productively working; blessing their neighbours and their country.
All the money for this commitment has been raised through one fund raising event per year - the Triadventure. This year the goal is to raise enough money to complete the commitment. Will you help me make this possible? You can donate online by going to triforafrica.org, click on the donate button and then click on my name. This same website provides you with more information about the project. Thank you!!

Pentecost Sunday Faith Formation Tip - Explain to kids that the Holy Spirit wasn’t “born” on Pentecost—the Old Testament, starting with Genesis, is full of references to the Spirit of God. But Pentecost was the birthday of the worldwide Christian church. Talk today about where you see the Holy Spirit at work in your family, your congregation, your community, and the world. (Faith Formation Ministries; crcna.org/FaithFormation).

Pray for Inspire 2019 - Inspire 2019 is a conference to connect people from across the 1000+ churches in the Christian Reformed Church for three days of worship, workshops, speakers, and conversation. This week, please pray for all worship team members as they plan worship, help choose songs, and make decisions about how to lead in worship and praise at Inspire 2019. Pray that worship will bring glory to God and bless those worshiping him.

REGISTER TODAY - Inspire 2019 will bring people from congregations across the continent for three days of worship, inspiration, connection, and encouragement. Register today and join us August 1-3 in Windsor, Ontario to connect with people in similar types of ministry or service, share your stories, discover new resources, and learn from others!
