Worship team @ Mountainview. Worship is a central component of life at Mountainview, and the worship team would be blessed by new participants, particularly those who play core instruments such as piano, guitar, drums, and yes, even organ! If you have a heart for leading worship, experience in singing or in playing an instrument, and have a desire to grow as a musician in team ministry, we would love to hear from you. We encourage especially less experienced musicians to give consideration to this opportunity, as mentoring and coaching are core components of how we operate.
Your prayerful consideration is appreciated. The month of August is a time where we want to give particular attention to having our "doors" open for this opportunity for you to become involved in this area of church life. You can send a note of interest, or questions, to Will Lammers, at email@example.com. Thanks for considering!

Prayer Request for a Karen Refugee Family: We are urgently requesting your prayers for a young family whose future hangs in the balance based on the outcome of a trial to be held in Thailand. Adonia Htoo is a Christian Karen refugee from Burma, now residing in Hamilton, who has been attempting to sponsor his wife, Hsa Po Kee La, to come to Canada since he arrived here in 2009. Numerous attempts were made for sponsorship, including a church sponsorship through Zion United Reformed church in 2015. The way was finally made clear this July, but then his wife was arrested at the Thailand airport for having a forged visa. She was separated from their daughter and placed in prison to await a trial. She is not guilty of this crime, as she was unaware that the one who prepared her visa was corrupt, even though she had gone to a legitimate source. The penalty if she is found guilty could mean years in jail, steep fines, or deportation; so currently a good lawyer is urgently being sought after. May God have mercy on this family as they seek justice for Hsa Po Kee La, and may they be reunited soon and be able to live together in Canada.
