Middle School rescheduled for this week, we will be celebrating the end of the year with a party at the church! We will be meeting from 6:30-8:30 and will be playing games and having snacks. 

Youth rescheduled for this week. The final night of the year. We will be meeting at Dave & Kari DeGraaf's house, from 7:00-9:00. We're going to play some fun games, roast s'mores over the fire, and recap AOYC and the amazing year we have had.

Mountainview Book Club:  The book club will be meeting for the last time this season today, May 26 at 7:00 pm in the church library.  We will be discussing Ann Walmsley's The Prison Book Club.


Performing Arts @ Mountainview presents a Spring Concert with the Hamilton Children’s Choir with Artistic Director: Zimfira Poloz. Hamilton Children’s Choir makes a difference in the lives of children and youth by providing young people with exceptional choral music instruction and performance opportunities that foster creativity, personal development and social growth. Join with us as we celebrate the gifts God has given to these children. The concert will take place on Saturday June 8th @ 7:30 pm at Mountainview. Proceeds from the evening will benefit Rose Cottage Visiting Volunteers, a part of the West Niagara Hospice Program. Tickets: $15 each, or $35 per family (w/children 15 & under.) Available at The Dutch Shop in Grimsby, or at the door on the evening of the concert.


Next Sunday June 2nd is our Annual Church Picnic and Volunteer Appreciation. Join us as we celebrate the generosity of so many of our members who give of their time and talents to serve. From ushers and greeters to Gems and Cadets; from Kids@Mountainview to Kids camp; from the Landscaping Group to Prayer Ministry; from Mission Circle to bulletin folders, literally hundreds of hours of time each month are given to supporting our mission to grow in relationship with one another and go sharing Christ’s love in words and actions. Come enjoy a time of fellowship and lunch followed by a delicious ice cream sundae. If the weather is nice, bring a lawn chair. Hope to see you there!

GREETING: A warm smile, shake of the hand, pat on the back, quick hug, all make you feel welcomed. Whether church family or guests, we want to make sure that all those coming to Mountainview each Sunday feel at home. Greeting is an important part of that. We are creating the Greeter’s schedule for July - December 2019. Can you take a turn to welcome family and friends in God’s house? Please let me know if you can volunteer, on a regular basis, 4 times per year, or maybe only once or twice. We’d be glad to have you! Looking for more singers at Kilean Lodge! Do you love to sing? Or love music? Do you know many nursing home residents are blessed beyond measure by the gift of music and worship. Music gives comfort, feeds faith, triggers memories, and gives joy. The Kilean Lodge group is looking for more members willing to lend their voice and/or love of music two times per year (or any amount they are willing) to bless Kilean Lodge residents with the gift of time and worship. Pray for Inspire 2019 - Inspire 2019 is a conference to connect people from across the 1000+ churches in the Christian Reformed Church for three days of worship, workshops, speakers, and conversation. As we plan and prepare for this event, happening August 1-3 in Windsor, Ont., please join us in praying for the event and all who will attend. This week, please pray for unity and Christlike dialogue in all elements of Inspire 2019. Pray that God will give unity and purpose to the many people involved in planning and preparing for the event, and pray that as people gather to share ideas, to hear speakers and engage in conversation at Inspire 2019, the Holy Spirit will bring and maintain peace and unity in Christ.

PRAY FOR SYNOD 2019 - Synod 2019 will meet on the campus of Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, from Friday, June 14, to Thursday, June 20. All CRC churches across the continent are requested to remember the deliberations of synod in their intercessory prayers on Sunday, June 9, and Sunday, June 16.

THE GREAT CANADIAN PRAY & SING - Today, nearly 200 Canadians, representing over half of the CRC churches in Canada, are gathered in Edmonton, Alberta, to worship together and to wrap up a weekend of listening to the Spirit and discerning his leading. Join churches across Canada and sing with joy today that "I Am Not My Own" but belong to a good God forever.

Classis Niagara workshop on “Renegotiating Faith: The Delay in Young Adult Identity Formation and What it Means for the Church in Canada”. The Leadership Development Team of Classis Niagara invites all churches to send leaders, youth and young adult ministry volunteers, parents and young adults to an interactive session led by Lesli VanMilligen of Faith Formation Ministries. “Renegotiating Faith” is a recent study done by the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada that gives us a deeper understanding of youth culture, especially the formative & transitionary years of young adulthood, what those realities mean for young people, and how the church can empathize and recalibrate their discipleship with/to young adults. Join us THURSDAY, JUNE 6 from 7:30-9pm at JUBILEE FELLOWSHIP. Niagara Young Adults - Hello young adults, NYA is a group for you, a group to be encouraged and strengthened in faith but more importantly an opportunity to strengthen and encourage other young adults in their faith and service to God. Build the extended community! We changed the name (slightly), changed the day, and made the meetings more often and consistent. Let your friends know and join us on Wednesday May 29 at 7:30 pm in the basement of Bethany (Fenwick) CRC. We are meeting bi-weekly on Wednesday nights, alternating between a Bible study at Bethany CRC and a fun night. Evening about Euthanasia: St. Joseph’s Church is holding an event on Thursday, June 13 at 7 pm at the church.  We will be showing the movie Fatal Flaws which talks about Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide laws leading society down a dangerous path, followed by a powerful talk from the producer of the film.  We are inviting all the churches in Grimsby to join us that evening. There is no charge for this event however, a Free Will Offering after the presentation would be welcomed.


MINISTRY COORDINATOR POSITION (SUMMER STUDENT). We are in the process of hiring a summer student to fill our Ministry Coordinator Position at Grace CRC in Welland. Position details include: Teaching summer sunday school, preparing a one week vacation bible school, organizing a neighbourhood garage sale, planning Friday evening BBQ's in July, assisting our church administrator, worship coordinator, pastor & custodian. This position is for 30 hours / week. Start date: June 24 - Sept 1. You can apply by sending your resume and cover letter to Application deadline is Monday, June 10, 2019.


We are looking for 2 Counsellors for our Summer Arts Camp this Summer which will run from July 8 – Aug 22 (30 hours per week). Must be a minimum age of 17. Camp Shalom is currently in need of 4 Male Counselors and a Maintenance worker for the summer. They must be at least 17 by December 31st, 2019 to apply. All positions are paid.
