Are you called to serve?

Mountainview’s vision is to transform lives by the love of Jesus, bringing hope, healing and good news in a broken world. Within our community we have Elders and Deacons who serve our congregation and community for their spiritual, personal and physical needs so that each person can experience and grow in the richness of God’s grace.

In the upcoming months there will be an opportunity for those gifted in walking alongside people on their life journeys to become part of Mountainview Church’s ministry team. The process to identify these names has begun. If this is something you would be interested in and feel called to do, or if you know someone you feel is gifted for either one of these roles, please pass their name on to the Clerk, Glenn Heinen, in the next few weeks. You may email Glenn (clerk@mountainviewcrc.org) or place the nomination(s) in his mail slot.

Nominees will be asked to attend a one-hour Information Session where they will hear from current Elders and Deacons and get an understanding of the roles and expectations. At any time, nominees can request a one-on-one meeting with a current Elder/Deacon.

Please prayerfully consider this opportunity.

Pre-Marriage Classes: Pastor Sid and Sue are offering 5 weeks of Pre-Marriage classes working through Timothy Keller’s book “The Meaning of Marriage.” Our first session is this evening at 7:00 pm. We will begin by introducing ourselves and looking at Chapter One.

YOUTH FUNDRAISING DINNER!! This year we are changing it up a bit with a new theme: Pirates of the Carribbean. Come sail the seas with us on Saturday February 17thCocktail hour begins at 5pmDinner at 6pm. This year we are also seeking sponsors for tables. What this means is - for $200 you sponsor a table of 8 to cover the cost of the meal, instead of asking for donated items.  These 8 tickets are yours to use or distribute. A sponsor can be an individual, family or a business.  Individual tickets can still be reserved free of cost - you do not have to sponsor a table. Please contact Janice Schwanz to reserve your tickets or if you wish to sponsor a table. Call 289-377-8389 or email; youthdirector@mountainviewcrc.org. Donations on the event help youth to attend AOYC and a mission trip.  This year we are aiming to go to Puerto Rico in March of 2019 with Disaster Relief from World Renew. Cannot attend?  You can still donate; envelopes are at the Welcome Center.

Middle school meets today! We begin a new series called "Best Seller - The Bible can be confusing, but context makes it clearer."
