LOCAL DENOMINATIONAL NEWS

At-Home Faith Formation Tip - Fall can be an overwhelming and anxious time for students of all ages. How could you encourage the students in your family or your church this week? You might bake cookies, share a favorite book, send a card. And pray for them as they discover the gifts God has given them and explore how God might be calling them to use those gifts. (Tip from Faith Formation Ministries; crcna.org/FaithFormation)

The Banner's Guide to the Acts of Synod 2019 - Every year, following the CRC's annual general assembly, the denomination publishes a hefty volume detailing all the 'acts' of that year's synod. If you get bogged down in the 50,000-word document or are intimidated to even pick it up, The Banner's 3,000-word guide is for you. Find it at thebanner.org/synod.

Youth Justice Project - MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY! The Youth Justice Project is an annual video contest funded by NewGround (a program of Diaconal Ministries Canada). Montreal Ministry to Seafarers:  M2S is undergoing many changes with a new logo, a new app and new ways of connecting with seafarers. We want to give you easier access to your ministry at M2S and offer you access to seafarers. Through the app, you can exchange thoughts with a seafarer on what you’re reading in the Bible, access video content and help tell the story of M2S with your friends and family. Download the app here:  https://subsplash.com/theministrytoseafarersof/app. As Christmas approaches, watch for content that will help you promote the Christmas parcel drive.

Pray with us:  All our efforts are meant to increase our effectiveness in our work and point more seafarers to Christ. We can’t do this without your prayers!

  • Pray that many seafarers and supporters will download the app.

  • Pray for Doni, our summer intern, who is developing content for the app, that she would be inspired by the Holy Spirit and we’d see the fruit of her labours.

·         That the app will serve as an effective tool to tell the M2S story and engage more people.
