The UPSIDE DOWN MIRROR Series
Join us Sunday morning at 10 am or any time throughout the week. Pastoral Intern Brady DeBoer presents a message, the first in a series on the book of Jonah, entitled “A Misunderstood Story”. He’ll be taking a look at Jonah Chapter 1. Theme “Jonah runs from God.”
The story of Jonah is one we’ve all heard before. But how well do we know what it’s really about?
Please note: Bibles and pens will not be in pews over the summer due to grads and camp. A cart with bibles will be by the entrance if you would like to grab one. Pens are available on the offering vase table in the lobby or at the Welcome Centre.
Happy Canada Day!! May God keep our land glorious and free for all and hold our country and its people in His loving care.
LET’S BUILD SOME COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS!
JOYFUL GIVING
“GIVING is not just about making a donation. It is about making a difference.”
These words are being repeated from last week…because they are so true. We are almost there!! $19,000 is still needed to meet our ministry promises for this fiscal year ending June 30. Please help Mountainview make a difference – in our community and in our world missions. Thank you for your tremendous response so far!
PJ Vermeer, Chair of Council
UPCOMING OFFERING: July 9th A.M. – Indwell: Our Vision - Hope and Homes for All. Our Mission - Indwell is a Christian charity that creates affordable housing communities that support people seeking health, wellness and belonging. Our Values - We value the inherent dignity of all people as image bearers of God. We live out our Christian calling to love our neighbor as ourselves. Hope is the foundation of all our actions. Be a part of ending homelessness. Through your gifts you are providing affordable housing, supports, and community for Indwell tenants. This helps each person achieve health, wellness and belonging.
Bridge App Givings: We are deeply grateful that many members are using The Bridge App to donate to our church’s budget and ministry causes. Please be aware that there is a three percent fee for all donations given by credit card, while there is no fee if you give directly from your bank account. If you haven’t already done so, you can add your bank account by clicking on ‘Give’ and then ‘Payment Methods,’ choose ‘Add Payment Method’ and then ‘Add a Bank Account’. You will need to change the payment method on any existing recurring donations. Together, we can save our church hundreds of dollars in fees, and direct those funds toward our budget and ministries. Thank you.
Thank you for Joining Us for Justice for All Sunday! - Your gifts help to provide gender justice training, education for local leaders, trauma healing, and community support to ensure children are given the opportunity to attend school. Together, we can work towards providing education for children to flourish and reach their God-given potential. Every day, we see the positive impact of a permanent supportive home – a safe and welcoming place that people can truly afford on a limited fixed income. For people who have been on the street, institutionalized, couch-surfing and moving in and out of shelters, this is such a gift! As Lori says, “Since being at Indwell, I know what home is. I have a new way of life – one I can be proud of. I have friends and lots of good people [around me] making good choices.” Through your donation to Indwell you are providing homes and nurturing hope that support a person’s journey toward health, wellness and belonging. Thank you for being a part of Indwell community of care. Warm regards, Sonja and the Indwell team
Dear Friends at Mountainview CRC, We received your most recent gift and, as always, Redeemer is grateful and encouraged by your faithfulness. The academic year officially concluded on May 27th and the halls now feel very quiet. Without students, it is a very different place! However, it is a good time for staff reflection and preparation and also facility repairs or updates.
Redeemer has focused diligently on ensuring affordable tuition. The support from the CRC community has been a distinct help in that regard. An update on enrolment and tuition will go out closer to September.
I wanted to draw your attention to an article about our wonderful organ and about Professor Chris Teeuwsen (who will retire at the end of December 2023) and his interest and investment in Redeemer’s organ tradition: https://www.redeemer.ca/resound/organ-ordination/
Info on our Year in Review can be found here: https://www.redeemer.ca/year-in-review-2022-2023/
Redeemer acknowledges your support with much gratitude. Thank you again. God bless! Heidi
You are making a difference! On behalf of the ministries of the Christian Reformed Church in North America, thank you for your gifts to ministry shares. Your support enables congregations to do so much more to further God's Kingdom than any one church could do alone. Our denomination could not impact the world through missions, media, and church development without your incredible and faithful support. Thank you! To discover more visit crcna.org/ministryshares.
