MOUNTAINVIEW NEWS

Join us Sunday morning at 10 am or anytime throughout the week. This Sunday Pastor Erick will present a message entitled “Giving Thanks with Mixed Feelings”. He will be taking a look at the book of Ezra, chapter 3, verses 10-14.

Just because it is Thanksgiving, doesn't necessarily mean this is the best day for you to feel thankful. Our thankfulness comes with a variety of emotions and experiences. Ezra 3 is our guide for leaning into that reality.

LET’S BUILD SOME COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS!

JOYFUL GIVING

Sunday's offerings are for our Ministry Promise (a.k.a. Budget) AND for...

UPCOMING OFFERING: October 15th A.M. – Niagara Christian Gleaners is an organization in Smithville that seeks to visibly demonstrate God’s love and grace by working with volunteers to collect, process, and make available surplus agricultural produce; sharing our abundance with those around the world who are in need.  Gleaning is a biblical concept in which God instructed farmers to leave a portion of their crops for the poor to gather.  Your donations help us to engage locally to impact globally in our ministry of mercy.

Niagara International Students Ministry - Winter Clothing Drive: Fall and winter are on the way. Many International Students arrive in Canada without proper winter clothing. One of the ways NIS supports international students, at Brock and Niagara College, is by sharing used winter clothing. If you have winter clothes you no longer need, or no longer fit, you can clean your closet and bless a student with them. We need winter clothes for men, women and children. If you have questions please contact Hilda at: hildavk@gmail,com

As we give thanks to God this weekend, we are grateful for mothers in the village of Ka Chi in Laos who are receiving medical support through World Renew from community health volunteers for prenatal check-ups, nutritional training, and preventative care. Families that participate in the Free A Family® program receive the training and tools they need to journey away from poverty. For more information, visit worldrenew.ca/FreeAFamily.

Dear Brothers and Sisters of Mountainview CRC, Thank you for your church's recent gift to the ministry shares program. We are grateful to your church for its passion to promote the gospel story and bring people to salvation in Jesus Christ. We praise God for your willingness to pool your resources with those of other congregations so that we can advance the Kingdom of God in more places and in more ways than a single congregation could do on its own. Everyday, people learn about Christ and salvation or are strengthened to be disciples of Jesus because of this shared ministry work.

I invite you to visit crcna.org/ministryshares to learn more about how your ministry share gifts are making a difference. Together, we are impacting the world for Christ. I pray you will be blessed by all of your giving. In Christ's Service, Rev. Al Postma, Transitional Executive Director

Assistance Needed (KidsCamp Family) - I am hoping to find someone who has experience in a support role with special needs youth, like my son Ethan (preferably with an education background).  Ethan is 13 and starting high school this September. We previously had the steady help of an EA from our church (Forestview) but her life situation has changed and I am forced to widen my search. Commitmen: 6-7 hours/wk, split between Wed and Thurs, 6:30-9:30pm. Pay is for time and travel within reason; amount determined by education and experience.  If you can’t commit weekly, please reach out as I may be able to find someone who can do certain weeks, but not others. Contact Tracey at: dayboll.tracy@gmail.com
