MOUNTAINVIEW NEWS

Join us Sunday morning at 10 am in person or online. Pastor Erick Schuringa continues the Sermon the Mount series with a message entitled “The Heart of the Law”” He will begin in Matthew chapter 5 verses 17-48.

In this part of Jesus' mountain of teaching, he deals with the law. At first glance it appears he makes the law even harder, if not impossible to keep. But a closer look shows us that Jesus is showing us the true path to living the way God wants us to live.

JOYFUL GIVING

Sunday’s offerings are for our Ministry Promise (a.k.a. Budget) AND for...

Upcoming Offering:

October 5th A.M. – Thrive Ministries: We’re here to help you and your church. Our staff are practitioners in the areas of faith formation, abuse prevention and response, disability access, racial justice and diversity, pastors and church support, chaplaincy, justice, and worship. Our priority is to listen to your needs as church staff, volunteers, and members as you endeavor to cultivate a flourishing congregation in your local context. We are eager to walk alongside you and provide support, connections, and resources to equip your congregation to thrive. Your prayers and financial support are critical, whether through annual church contributions, special offerings, or individual donations. To keep up to date on all of our work, subscribe to the Thrive monthly email.

As Thanksgiving approaches and we reflect on all that we’re grateful for, I want you to know that you are at the top of that list. Because of your congregation’s commitment to reaching out to people with the Gospel message, lives are being transformed by the power of God’s Word. Families are being reached, churches are being strengthened, and hope is being restored. You’ve helped carry the Gospel into places where it had not yet gone, and the stories of impact reflect your heart for the Kingdom.

Niagara International Students Ministry (connected with Brock Chaplaincy and led by Hilda VanderKlippe, who is Assistant Chaplain to Pastor Zack DeBruyne at Brock) encourages us to consider hosting and connecting with an international student this Thanksgiving (click on the picture below for more information):

Thrive Faith Formation Tip - God’s family is beautifully diverse. Revelation 7:9 gives us a glimpse of heaven as a great multitude “from every nation, tribe, people, and language” worshiping together (Rev. 7:9). As you celebrate All Nations Heritage Week this week, ask a Christian from another nation or culture to share with you one meaningful way in which people in their tradition worship God. Or look online for stories about Christians in other cultures and how they worship God. Brought to you by Thrive: crcna.org/Thrive

Family Fire - Family Fire is an online community exploring Spirit-led family, marriage, parenting, in-laws, blended families, and intimacy. Find encouraging articles and devotions at familyfire.com. Subscribe for regular email updates and connect with our Family Fire community on Facebook.

All Nations Heritage Sunday - October 5 - Next week, Thrive invites congregations to celebrate the diverse and multicultural church of Christ.
