Request for Volunteers: Mountainview CRC has two committees which count and tabulate the donations which are collected each Sunday. Each committee meets every other week to count the proceeds of the previous Sunday's collections, including those received via the offerings taken at Shalom Manor. FA$T is anticipating that we will need several volunteers to fill upcoming vacancies on these committees. If you have any interest in serving Mountainview in this way every other week, you might consider joining one of the counting committees. One committee meets every other Monday morning while the other meets every other Monday evening. If interested, feel free to contact Peter Westerterp or Will Klein.
Middle School end of year bonfire party! Saturday May 26th, 7 - 9:30pm @ Jason and Melissa Vanderwier’s. We will be having a bonfire and a game of Capture the Flag. Parents please drop off and pick up your son/daughter at the Vanderwier's. Those entering grade 6 in September are welcome to attend as well.
Youth Party, Sunday May27th-after the morning service @ Ian Vermeer’s. Youth can catch a ride with leaders after church. Parents pick up youth from Vermeer’s @ 4:30pm. Youth are asked to bring snacks; baked goods, chips, crackers/cheese etc. or juice/pop. Leaders are bringing salads. Janice will bring the BBQ items/bottled water. Be prepared to play water games after lunch!
AOYC - We will meet at the church for 5pm on Friday May 18. Check the packing list. Don’t forget to bring new socks for the homeless.
THE WEEK OF GUIDED PRAYER (WOGP), Praying Our Story: Next week is the last week of registration for participation in the Week of Guided Prayer (May 27 - June 2). Youth Yard Sale - Spring cleaning is here! Do you have stuff that you no longer use but is still in good shape? The Mountainview youth are planning a fundraiser yard sale for July 7th and are collecting items to sell. Proceeds will go towards the youth mission trip to Puerto Rico in March 2019. Questions? Mother’s Day Greetings from Beginnings - On this special day when we celebrate our Mothers and the vocation of mothering, Beginnings Family Services would like to thank all of you who have supported the work of Beginnings in the past year. With your support, we are able to offer free counselling to those who come for help with an unplanned pregnancy. We appreciate your prayers and other expressions of support! Grimsby Life Centre 2018 LIFE CHANGE CAMPAIGN -- When there is pain in a family, it is often the children who suffer in silence. There is nothing more painful for a Mom when she sees her child hurting and doesn’t know how to reach them. At the Grimsby Life Centre we have counsellors who specialize in counselling children and youth. Approximately 20% of our clients are under the age of 20.

Use Your Motorhome/RV for World Renew/CRCNA Ministry - World Renew and the CRCNA are commissioning Jeremy Benjamin (Zeyl) to travel across Canada (June-Oct) in a project that will join the voices of thousands of CRC members on the song "I Am Not My Own". This journey is a fundraiser for World Renew and CRC local ministries, and we are looking for help so that Jeremy can travel with his family! CPJ's AGM & Toronto Book Launch: CPJ will host its Annual General Meeting and a book launch of our new publication, Journeys to Justice on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Mary Ward Centre, Toronto. Joe Gunn, CPJ's executive director, will introduce the book, and we will hear readings and commentary from a panel of contributors to the book, including Moira Hutchinson, Peter Noteboom, John Olthuis, Jennifer Henry, Leah Watkiss, and David Pfrimmer.
