 Congregational Conversation

“Open Forum” Meeting: Since the charges against our brother Jonathan Monster were made public, members of our congregation have been struggling with their feelings. They are asking: “What is the appropriate way for our community of faith to respond?” Several members have expressed their thoughts in letters sent to our Council. Their opinions were expressed with passion and vary greatly.

In this difficult time, Council feels that it is wise for our congregation to come together in an “open forum” meeting. During this meeting there will be an opportunity for our members to express their thoughts, to listen to one another, and to pray together. You are encouraged to come. This meeting will take place, our Lord willing, on Tuesday August 28th, starting at 7 o’clock. Will you pray, in the words of Paul ‘continually’ for this meeting and for our congregation?

Worship team @ Mountainview. Worship is a central component of life at Mountainview, and the worship team would be blessed by new participants, particularly those who play core instruments such as piano, guitar, drums, and yes, even organ! If you have a heart for leading worship, experience in singing or in playing an instrument, and have a desire to grow as a musician in team ministry, we would love to hear from you. We encourage especially less experienced musicians to give consideration to this opportunity, as mentoring and coaching are core components of how we operate.

Your prayerful consideration is appreciated. The month of August is a time where we want to give particular attention to having our "doors" open for this opportunity for you to become involved in this area of church life. You can send a note of interest, or questions, to Will Lammers, at Thanks for considering!
