MOUNTAINVIEW NEWS

Join us Sunday morning at 10 am in person or online. Pastor Brady DeBoer will present a message entitled “Trusting God in Transition”, focused on the second book of Kings, Chapter 2 verses 7-15.

We’ll walk through the story of Elisha becoming the new prophet of Israel. His mentor, Elijah, is one of two men in the Bible to be taken up into heaven rather than dying. Elijah is widely considered to be the greatest prophet that Israel ever had. Will Elisha be able to fill shoes that big? Or will he crumble under the pressure?

JOYFUL GIVING

Sunday’s offerings are for our Ministry Promise (a.k.a. Budget) AND for...

Upcoming Offering:

UPCOMING OFFERING: June 29th A.M. – World Renew – Refugee Sunday: As conflict and violence continue to drive people out of their homelands in search of safety and a new beginning, families are facing increasing challenges, and many grow hopeless as they struggle to find safe shelter and a sense of normalcy. Refugees who settle in Canada often speak of the pure joy they find in knowing that they are safe. They bring with them their determination and resilience and become valuable members of their new communities. Today is Refugee Sunday. Through your gift to support the World Renew Refugee Sponsorship and Resettlement Program, you can help change the story of hardship and heartbreak to one of joy and belonging for refugees. To donate, call 1-888-WRLD-RNW or go online to: worldrenew.ca/refugees

Please Note: Year End Ministry Promise Updates
will be in your weekly emails under JOYFUL GIVING

Grimsby Life Centre Hope Grows Here - THANK YOU! We are so thankful to each of you for supporting our ministry through your prayers and gifts. We have met our $25,000 goal and our window is filling up with colourful notes of hope and encouragement. It has been such a blessing for our clients to see this symbol of hope and be able to recognize that they have a community of support cheering them on. Thank you for helping Hope Grow Here!

Your Opinion Matters to World Renew! - As World Renew works to share Christ’s hope with communities struggling with hunger, poverty, and injustice, we seek out ways to improve, whether in our programming around the world or in our communications with you, our generous-hearted supporters. To this end, we invite you to complete our donor survey, which can be filled out anonymously. It should take about 10 minutes of your time to complete. Thank you for your support. The survey can be found at: worldrenew.ca/survey

Give the Gift of a New Beginning - Globally, there are an estimated 43.4 million refugees. These are people who have fled persecution, conflict, violence, or human rights violations in their homelands. Yet, many of them still live in fear—some in communities where they are not welcomed and others in refugee camps where they struggle to meet their basic needs. Since 1979, World Renew has supported churches and other sponsoring groups through the process of resettling more than 11,000 refugees to Canada. Time and time again, newcomers say thank you for the freedom life in Canada has given them. June 29 is Refugee Sunday. Your gift of support to the World Renew Refugee Sponsorship and Resettlement Program can help renew hope for a refugee family. For more information go to: worldrenew.ca/refugee

Thrive Faith Formation Tip - Today is Indigenous Ministry Sunday, set aside to celebrate the gifts and richness that Indigenous people bring to life in Canada and the United States. Storytelling is an important part of Indigenous cultures. It is one way they pass on the story of their people and their history. The Bible is the story of God and God’s people. Telling Bible stories is a way we pass along God’s story from one generation to the next. These stories help us to know who God is and what God has done. What is your favorite Bible story? Why do you like it? What does it tell you about God? How does it affect the way you live today? Brought to you by Thrive: crcna.org/Thrive
