AUTUMN FAVOURITES CONCERT: Performing Arts @ Mountainview presents… Autumn Favourites Trio! Come enjoy the musical artistry of organist Andre Knevel, violinist Katrina DeRoche and pianist Naomi Van Manen as they perform a number of selections from your favourite composers. Following the concert please join us for a time of fellowship and refreshments. The concert will take place on Saturday October 5th @ 7:30 pm at Mountainview Church. Tickets: $15 each, or $35 per family (w/children 15 & under.) Available at The Dutch Shop in Grimsby, or at the door on the evening of the concert.
Middle School and Youth Ministry:
Looking for one Male Young Adult Leader!! Are you up for the challenge of growing with and encouraging Middle School students in their faith? Come talk to Christine about being a leader.
Parents who have children in grade 6, 7 & 8. Mountainview has an awesome Middle School program twice a month on Sundays from 5-7 pm. It begins with FUN activities, a time of eating (we know this age likes to eat) followed by a time of worship and small groups with curriculum that is DESIGNED just for this age. We are using the Orange MS curriculum. It begins on Sunday, Sept 22nd at 5 p.m. You can register on line at www.mountainviewcrc.org clicking the link at the top of our home page. Changes coming to Youth @ Mountainview - Youth Nights and Faith Instruction are combining to become Faith Formation nights! Starting officially this Sunday, September 22nd Youth will be meeting every Sunday night from 5:00-7:30 pm. Nights will begin with a regular Faith Instruction lesson, followed by dinner and a time to socialize. We will then end the night either with games, praise & worship, or a Youth Alpha small-group session.
GEMS is starting again at the on September 25th with a campfire kickoff!! Grades 3-8 girls are invited!!! Registration and info can all be found online on Mountainview's website. We are looking for a few more ladies to join the TEAM as counselors! Do you feel a passion for telling girls about God's love?! The Mountainview Men's Chorus is always welcoming men who would like to sing Christian praise songs, learn harmony and participate in services (and perhaps elsewhere). Afternoon Coffee Break (for women) will begin again on Wednesday October 2nd at 2:15 - 3:30 pm in the Library. We are studying Ephesians and will continue with Lesson 5, Question 3. We are a small group and would love for some ladies to join us as we study the Bible.

Mountainview Photography Group: We are excited to share that FOCUS will be the theme of our upcoming sessions. We will continue to work on basics to refine and grow our skills, giving us the confidence to shoot in manual mode through hands-on workshops. Safe Church Advisory Panel Training - Join us Saturday, Sept. 28 from 9am to 3pm at the CRCNA Offices (Burlington). All those active in safe church ministry are encouraged to attend this training. In addition, the training is also appropriate for church ministry leaders and council members. Bonnie Nicholas, Safe Church director, will facilitate the training, which will feature video segments, interactive learning and a role play. South Africa Fundraising Dinner and Auction - Smithville Christian High School will be hosting their 8th biennial fundraising dinner and auction for South Africa. APPLE-PIE-MAKING VOLUNTEERS NEEDED at Cairn Christian School: Please join Cairn Christian School with our annual Apple Pie Making on Friday, October 4, at the Stoney Creek Campus at 8:45 am. The IF: Gathering is an event for women of all ages who seek to learn how to give God away in the very places He has put us. This year we will study the book of Proverbs and the wisdom it imparts on our daily lives (via simulcast from gifted Bible teachers: Bianca Olthof, Christine Caine, Jennie Allen, Jo Saxton and many more) We will worship together, eat together and connect with the women around us. This event will be held on the evening of Sept 27th and all day Sept 28th at Providence Church in Beamsville. The cost of the event is $40 before Sept.14th and $45 after. The Mission Thrift Store in Beamsville is looking for volunteers. We have many areas open to suit everyone. Our Receiving Area is extremely short on Volunteers on Fridays and Saturdays; sorting clothing happens on Wednesday’s, Friday’s and Saturdays, but we would welcome you any time. All we ask is to commit to a 9-1 or 1-4:30 shift. What you will receive in return is volunteering along side some of the sweetest, spiritual, people I have met in my lifetime and the blessing of serving. Life Chain - Sunday, October 6, 1-2pm - On Sunday, October 6 from 1 - 2pm we plan to gather at the intersection of Main St and Christie St in Grimsby to pray for an end to abortion. We will be joining our prayers with thousands of people in 1600 locations across Canada and the United States who will be forming Life Chains in their communities on the same day!
We will pray silently and hold signs provided at the site. This is a local witness intended to generate thought and discussion within our community and to demonstrate that abortion is not a closed or settled issue in this country. Questions?
