EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT PARTICIPATING in The Week of Guided Prayer: This is a special week in our congregation. Even if you are not participating as a Retreatant, you are invited to share in this "retreat in the midst of daily life" in the following ways:
· Come to the sanctuary as often as you are able to spend time with God and use the prayer stations.
· Use the daily handout sheets of scriptures on the retreat theme.
· Weave the loom.
· Walk and pray the labyrinth in the Fellowship Hall, using the materials provided.
· Browse at the WOGP book table in the foyer. Borrow a book for the week.
· Pray daily for the Retreatants, Companions and Coordinators.
Youth Party, Today - after the morning service @ Ian Vermeer’s. Youth can catch a ride with leaders after church. Parents pick up youth from Vermeer’s @ 4:30pm. Youth are asked to bring snacks; baked goods, chips, crackers/cheese etc. or juice/pop. Leaders are bringing salads. Janice will bring the BBQ items/bottled water. Be prepared to play water games after lunch!
Mountainview Book Club: The book club will be holding its last meeting of the season Today at 7pm in the church library. We will be discussing A Man called Ove by Fredrik Backman.
PRAYER WALK: Saturday June 2nd. 8:30am. meeting at Tim's across from Coles. Please contact Max Meijer or Elsie Heinen if you'd like to join us.
Join us Sunday June 3rd for our SPRING CONGREGATIONAL MEETING and VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION SOCIAL. The meeting will take place, after a short break, following the AM service. Child care will be provided, please indicate to leaders when dropping off your children before church, whether they will be staying or not. ALL are welcome to attend. Voting is limited to Professing members only.
At the meeting, we will be hearing an update about changes to council structure. As well, we will be reviewing the Financial statements for 2017. We will celebrate our Volunteers and recognize members using their God given gifts in service at Mountainview. We will hear some ministry updates and will be able to ask questions regarding the annual reports included in the Agenda Package. (approx. 45 min-1 hour) Following the meeting please join us for a time of fellowship with a BBQ & Ice Cream Social.

It is also available on our website at www.mountainviewcrc.org/policies Members unable to attend are invited to participate by filling out an absentee ballot and placing it the box provided at the Welcome Centre.
Join us this fall for Cluster Groups!! Cluster groups are short-term small groups designed to “Grow Community” in a NEW way! Our goal is for young, old and those in between, to get to know one another. These groups will meet for 7 sessions starting September 30 through to December 16. (roughly every other week). The first and last sessions will be at the church. Your group will decide together when & where to meet for the 5 sessions in between; likely at the homes of group members.
The Cluster Groups will be inter-generational. Anyone who signs up will be randomly placed in a small group. Sessions will include food, fellowship and growth! We will meet around a table, enjoy food and conversation, watch an Alpha video, followed by a discussion and prayer. A team of twenty-five small group leaders, are eagerly waiting to meet you! Everyone age 14 - 99 is invited to join. It is our goal that ALL Mountainview members and other interested people will participate and get to know each other!

COMMUNITY HYMN SING: “A New Thing” Join us June 10th at 7 p.m. for an evening of praise and worship. We will give expression to our faith in song, in the words of many favourite hymns, interwoven with readings. As we sing out our faith together we will be accompanied by Ernie Termorshuizen on organ. Counters needed: Mountainview CRC has two committees which count and record donations collected each Sunday including those received via the offerings taken at Shalom Manor. FA$T needs several volunteers to fill upcoming vacancies. If you have any interest in serving Mountainview in this way please consider joining a team. Youth Yard Sale - Spring cleaning is here! Do you have stuff that you no longer use but is still in good shape? The Mountainview youth are planning a fundraiser yard sale for July 7th and are collecting items to sell. Proceeds will go towards the youth mission trip to Puerto Rico in March 2019. Questions? Summer RAYS is a weekly multi-sports and activities camp hosted by Redeemer University College in July and August for kids ages 5 - 13. Each week emphasizes participation, cooperation, skill development and most of all fun! Learn more and register at redeemerroyals.ca/rays.
Shalom Outbreak – Visitor restrictions are in effect in the Lakeview (Manor-fourth floor) home area due to an upper respiratory outbreak. All visiting an isolated resident must wear the gown, mask and gloves provided. If you are unwell, we ask that you not visit. If you visit a resident on Lakeview, we request you make no other visits before leaving. Don’t forget to hand sanitize/wash when entering & exiting the building during your visit – handwashing is one of our best defenses against spreading illness. Thank you for working with us to get and keep our residents safe and healthy!
Grimsby Life Centre 2018 LIFE CHANGE CAMPAIGN--None of us are exempt from issues surfacing in life that are beyond our control or ability to process. And, there is hope in the admission that we could all use a little help and support from time to time. The Life Centres have 9 full and part-time counsellors who are schooled and experienced in bridging that gap with you. Your financial support with the Life Change Campaign is critical to our ministry. Without your generosity, our doors simply would not be open.

CPJ's AGM & Toronto Book Launch: CPJ will host its Annual General Meeting and a book launch of our new publication, Journeys to Justice on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Mary Ward Centre, Toronto. Joe Gunn, CPJ's executive director, will introduce the book, and we will hear readings and commentary from a panel of contributors to the book, including Moira Hutchinson, Peter Noteboom, John Olthuis, Jennifer Henry, Leah Watkiss, and David Pfrimmer.
