Family Worship

We are going to begin our first Sunday of 2019 with Kids@Mountainview joining us in worship. On the first Sunday of each month, Kids@Mountainview are going to begin our services with us, and we are going to learn about their theme of the month. For example, the theme for January is “Operating System.” The series description says this; “As we follow Jesus His love transforms us. His Spirit gives us the power to show self-control. We can follow His example and choose to do what we should do-instead of what we want to do.” Self-Control is the LIFE APP, that students will be challenged to live, and the children will introduce us to this teaching in the morning service. We plan to have the children worship with us the first Sunday of each month for the opening 30-40 minutes, then they’ll leave for their small group lessons. Once they leave, I will preach a sermon on “Self-Control.” In February the children’s theme will be “Always Open,” using the story of Jesus washing the feet of his disciples, with the LIFE APP being Service. In March the theme is “Made,” as children discover who they’re meant to be, made in God’s Image.” In April, the theme is “Bright Side,” with the message on Lazarus being raised, and in May, it’s called “Mud Run,” with a message on the Great Commission, and making it through the Mayhem. We are hoping this will make the service more welcoming to inquiring families, while celebrating worship with our children. It is our prayer that some families who would not normally attend, might be encouraged to join us, and ease their way into worship. The format may be a little different and songs a little unfamiliar, and we’re not sure how it will all turn out, but we trust and pray that you will be patient with us as we continue to explore ways to worship that is both honoring to God, and creative and encouraging to all who gather. We want to especially thank Will Lammers for the gifted manner in which he has given leadership to our music ministry. Thank you to our sound technicians and video producers and all members of Mountainview who make worship meaningful each Sunday again. May the Lord continue to be honored, glorified and praised in the New Year of 2019.
