Caring Encounters: Striving for Reconciliation - September 11, 2022

Message: Striving for Reconcilation”
Scripture Passage: 2 Corinthians 5:16-21.

Opening

Take some time to connect with each other. If you are a new group, take the time to introduce yourselves. If you are a returning group, catch up on what has been going on in each other’s lives.

1. This is a series about caring encounters. How are you feeling about the topic? (scared, excited, indifferent, curious, etc)

2. What words or idea in the passage or sermon stuck out for you? What grabbed your attention?

(if this question gives you enough to talk about for your entire small group time, perfect!)

3. Name a time when you sensed that “love compelled you”.

4. Are there ways that you experience the death-resurrection cycle in you life?

5. When you meet people, share how you might see them “from a worldly point of view” and how you might see them as “a new creation”.

6. Do you see yourself as “a new creation”….can you put into words a place you see that clearly in your life?

7. How excited are you about being an “ambassador”, about having a ministry of bringing reconciliation to relationships? (very, not at all, somewhat, etc) Can you put into words what is behind that feeling?

8. How are you “the righteousness of God”?

9. Is there a relationship in which you sense reconciliation needs to take place that you are free to share with the group?

Closing

Close in prayer. (have one person pray or go around the circle
