After gathering, connecting, enjoying refreshments and checking-in or catching up, discuss the following questions.
1. What were your thoughts or feelings about the dramatic presentation of Job 1 in the worship service (assuming you experienced it)?
2. What was your response to the sermon as a whole? What worked for you? What didn’t work?
3. What would you say was the message in one sentence?
4. What is your personal response to the book of Job? Is it a book you like or struggle with or wonder about…?
5. What do you do with the limited historical information given in Job? Have you thought about how important it is to know whether or not this story
happened as history? Discuss this.
6. How do you deal with the interaction of God and the accusor (Satan) in Job 1 & 2? Is this problematic to you?
7. What genre of writing would you call Job?
8. Have you ever read all of Job in one sitting?
9. Can you put into words a summary of what Job teaches?
10. What is your take-away from this conversation? Is there something that has shifted in your thoughts or plans?
Spend time as a group in prayer. Do so in a way that works well for your group…and stretches you a little as well.
