Offering Prayers

Our condolences to De Roos family, particularly Jack & Gertie and Martha with the loss of a sister and Theresa, Greta, Thomas and Walter with the loss of an aunt, Audrey, who passed away somewhat suddenly last Saturday.  The memorial was held this past week in Dunnville.  May their faith and community bring comfort, peace, and strength to the De Roos family in the days ahead.

We pray for all those walking the road of loss of a loved one.  May they know God’s presence and lean into God’s promises on the days that are difficult.  May God comfort all who mourn.

Please join us in holding up in prayer those who manage daily burdens of one kind or another (chronic or acute illness, grief, mental health, loss of abilities). We think specifically this week of:  Gerda Van Staalduinen, Rina Van Tellingen, Klaas & Nellie Brobbel, Dina Reinders, Anne Schuringa, John & Henny Vanderkolk, Clarence Alkema, and Lois Hanson. May God give them each what they stand in need of. May God give wisdom and strength to those who walk alongside them. We also pray for those who are dealing with issues of which we are not aware.

Giving Thanks

It was a gift to worship with the Guatemala team from afar last week and to witness the beauty of embodied worship in Olivia’s dance.  A thank you to Pete and Justin, in particular, who set this connection up and managed it from both ends, to Olivia for sharing her inspiring gift, and to Corinne and Erin for their gift of photography capturing moments of beauty and wonder throughout the week.  We are thankful for safety and for how this experience impacted the Mountainview DIG team.  Take an opportunity, if you haven’t already, to hear and see some of the stories of their amazing trip.  We continue to remember and be thankful for the work DIG continues to do alongside the Guatemalan people.  May they know they are not alone.  We give thanks for the many gifts God has given to this body of believers and we celebrate them.

Tyler Couperus serves with GAiN (Global Aid Network) Canada out of Langely, BC. His role as Disaster Relief Preparedness manager, helps him to reveal hope and restore life in areas overwhelmed with humanitarian crises.  We give thanks for this crucial work in places like Myanmar and Ukraine and pray that Tyler and GAiN will be given the wisdom, resources, peace, compassion, and strength they need to walk alongside people through these crises.

Gerda’s surgery was successful. We pray for a smooth recovery and return back to improved health. We also pray for comfort, strength, patience and peace on the healing journey.

We give thanks with Rina Van Tellingen, who spent weeks in hospital recently, to investigate some health concerns. She has returned home since her symptoms are now under control.  She is thankful for the medical care that has improved her quality of life.

Jack De Gelder moved into Shalom Gardens in January. His new address is Apt. 311-12 Bartlett Ave. and his phone number is 905-973-9415. The Bridge App is updated. Please update your directory if you use that for contact information.  We pray for a blessing on Jack’s transition to his new home.

You many notice something different about our lobby this Sunday… check it out!  Thanks to our Facilities Team for their continued upkeep and development at Mountainview, and particularly to John Bosch for his ongoing work making our space a more welcoming and accessible one, this time with upgraded lobby lighting.
