Church Family - March 22nd, 2026
Offering Prayers
Gary Nyenhuis had heart surgery on Friday. He was having pain and blockages were found. Pray that the result of surgery will be relief and restored health. Pray also for strength, peace and patience throughout recovery for both Gary & Sheila.
We continue to pray for the planning and preparation for the Benevolence – Food Program in St Catharines which begins again in April. May God prepare and surround all those serving or being served so that hearts change and relationships flourish.
As we reflect on power this Sunday and walk in faith, may we be formed by the servant leadership of Jesus, who walked the way of the cross. May we see others as God sees them — listening, learning, and choosing connection over correction, restoration over brokenness. May we let go of pride and the desire for recognition or influence and move instead in the humbling power of God's love.
Please join us in holding up in prayer those who manage daily burdens of one kind or another (chronic or acute illness, grief, mental health, loss of abilities). We think specifically this week of: Gerry & Marguerite Termorshuizen, Henk Heersink, Arie Bijl, Peter Zwart, Bonnie Buma, Gerda Van Staalduinen, Anna DeBruyne (Jr), and Anne Fisher. May God give them each what they stand in need of. May God give wisdom and strength to those who walk alongside them. We also pray for those who are dealing with issues of which we are not aware.
Giving Thanks
We give thanks Sovann’s leadership and ongoing work with World Renew in Cambodia a message and God’s love in this country with a centralized, authoritarian political system restricting civil liberties, a fragile economy hampered by border disputes with Thailand, and severe social issues such as high debt, low agricultural yields, and widespread online scam centers compounded by a lasting, traumatic legacy from the 1970s genocide. May Sovann, World Renew and their team continue to walk alongside Cambodia in their story and renew hope. Our most recent update from Cambodia is attached below (December 2025).
With joy and thankfulness to the Lord; Shannon & Pastor Brady welcomed their third daughter, Madelyn into the world on Thursday, March 19th! Mom and baby are both doing very well. Big sisters Esther and Aleida are excited! We pray a blessing on their continued transition together as a family. Congratulations also to grandparents William & Christina Bezemer and and great grandparents Clem & Ann Bezemer as well as to a few doting and proud aunts, uncles, and cousins attending Mountainview. We praise God for the gift of new life!
