Offering Prayers

We continue to pray for the planning and preparation for the Benevolence – Food Program in St Catharines which begins again in April.  May God prepare and surround all those serving or being served so that hearts change and relationships flourish.

On this Palm Sunday, as we remember Jesus’ triumphant yet humble entry into Jerusalem, let us also remember the path that lay before him. Fill our hearts with the humility and faithfulness that he displayed. Teach us to follow Jesus’ example of selfless love, to praise him in our hearts and with our lives, as we carry our crosses daily. Bless the palms we wave in praise and bless our hearts, that we may honor Christ the King in word and deed. As we enter this Holy Week, renew our minds and spirits. Hosanna in the Highest!

We pray for our Summer Camp through the next planning stages.  We pray for returning staff and new applicants who have been interviewed.  We ask for wisdom for the Leadership team in making these important decisions as a team is formed.  We pray that we will receive the funds that we need to offer the camp we envision; one that provides love, support, faith development and care not only for our campers but for our youth leaders.  To God be the glory as we get ready to welcome the community this summer.

Please join us in holding up in prayer those who manage daily burdens of one kind or another (chronic or acute illness, grief, mental health, loss of abilities). We think specifically this week of:  Gary & Sheila Nyenhuis, Anne Fisher, the Stuive family, Stien Ritskes, Jenny Smit, and Gertie Huizinga.  May God give them each what they stand in need of. May God give wisdom and strength to those who walk alongside them. We also pray for those who are dealing with issues of which we are not aware.

Giving Thanks

Metha Vander Beek has moved. Her new address is: Unit 401 – 4390 Hillview Drive, Beamsville, L3J 0H6.  She no longer has a landline and her cell in unchanged.  We pray for strength and peace for Metha in this transition and for a blessing on her new home.

“We would like to thank God for 60 years of marriage.  He was with us every step of the way even when we didn’t see it at the time.  We have been blessed with 4 children, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren!  God is good all the time and All the time God is good! “
Clem & Ann Bezemer

We give thanks for our Youth and all those who walk alongside them as mentors and leaders.  We give thanks for all the heads, hearts and hands of people who are preparing, connecting, and serving for the upcoming youth events.  We pray that the preparing and serving at the Youth Fundraising Dinner on Saturday March 29th will be full of joy and fun together and will build community among our youth, our leaders, and the congregation as a whole.  We give thanks for these communal times of celebration, support and service.  We pray that efforts to raise funds for AOYC and SERVE in Medicine Hat will be blessed and bear fruit.

Milder temperatures, plentiful sunshine between nourishing rainfalls, and vibrant sights, scents, sounds, and sensations — all signs of the season turning to spring — usher in a time of renewal and new life. Praise God for the faithfulness, creativity, and care we witness in the passage of time and the rhythms of creation.
