Offering Prayers
Trudy Schipper's brother-in-law, Ralph Schipper, passed away very suddenly on Sunday at the age of 67. He was injured in a fall and then experienced complications following surgery for his injuries Please remember his wife, two adult children, and extended family in your prayers. May God's strength uphold them and his peace surround them. May God comfort all who mourn.
We pray for those who grieve and remember those who are dealing with acute illnesses, chronic health concerns, or seeking a diagnosis. We pray for God’s shalom in the middle of their situations, and that God’s presence will comfort and strengthen them. May resurrection hope pervade our lives, especially in the more challenging parts.
Please join Cairn Christian School’s Grade 6 class at Stoney Creek in praying for Doctors Without Borders. The bible encourages us to pray for leaders and, in a world so affected by war, displacement, famine, and natural disasters, this NGO makes a big difference where doctors, nurses, and logistics workers help sick and injured people in 70 countries around the world providing surgery, vaccination, medication, and mental health support along with other care. May God bless their efforts to bring hope and healing in a broken world.
We pray for campers and their families who have registered for Summer Camp. We also pray for returning staff and new applicants. May their hearts and minds be prepared for their time at camp. May they lean into learning about God’s Kingdom and living it out. We pray that we will receive the funds that we need to offer the camp we envision; one that provides love, support, faith development and care not only for our campers but for our youth leaders. To God be the glory as we get ready to welcome the community this summer.
Please join us in holding up in prayer those who manage daily burdens of one kind or another (chronic or acute illness, grief, mental health, loss of abilities). We think specifically this week of: Ernie & Yetty Termorshuizen, Bill Vermeer, Willy Vander Horst, Klaas & Nellie Brobbel, Rita Klomps, and Adrian & Susan Vander Vaart. May God give them each what they stand in need of. May God give wisdom and strength to those who walk alongside them. We also pray for those who are dealing with issues of which we are not aware.
Giving Thanks
Christ is risen! We give thanks to God for this indescribable gift! God has given us the same resurrection power to live FREE from sin and death and to FLOURISH! This weekend, in particular, we remember the suffering and ultimate sacrifice of Jesus, then his resurrection from the grave, and the resulting gift of grace offered not just to us… to all peoples and to all of creation. May we live into seeing and walking where God is moving as part of His redeeming work in the world.
The Benevolence – St Catharines Food Program begins again this coming week. We praise God that we have the means, will and capacity to serve. We praise God for relationships forming. We pray a continued blessing on this work and from the work of justice that flows from it. May God prepare and surround all those serving or being served so that hearts change, relationships flourish, and systems change.
We give thanks for Tyler’s work with GAiN acting justly, loving mercy and walking humbly to bring love and hope to all those GAiN serves.
May God bless GAiN, Tyler in his managing role, and all the people he comes into contact with.
