Offering Prayers
Please pray for Margaret & Santino Ferrato as Margaret mourns the loss of her father. Margaret went to Thunder Bay to be with her mom but is back home again. It is hard to be so far away from family in a time of mourning. May God grant all who mourn peace, grace, and hope in the midst of their grief.
Metha Van der Beek is facing some health challenges and has recently been back in hospital for more testing. We pray that Metha may receive answers that can guide treatment and pray for patience and strength in the waiting.
We pray for those who support family or friends with ailing health and for people who are recovering and rehabilitating from surgeries. We also lift up those who are dealing with cancer diagnosis and treatment. Finally, many people have chronic health concerns with no clear answers, or they have conditions that affect their daily lives significantly and are a challenge to treat. In all these situations, may God grant peace, patience, wisdom, strength, and the assurance that He is walking with them.
Next week, many of our youth and a few leaders are heading to Waterloo for another AOYC on the long weekend! Please pray for safety, social connections, and spiritual wellness for ALL people, including the many from Mountainview involved as volunteers, planning committee, and of course the YOUTH!! This event has been such a spiritual encouragement for youth over the years; may God bless this one too!
The National March for Life takes place in Ottawa on May 14. We pray for those experiencing crises at the beginning and end of life, for workers who respond to and support those people and for politicians making decisions on these matters. May God lead them in their work. May we respect and protect the life that God gives and may we show that we value all life in all stages through our words, actions and policies.
Please join us in holding up in prayer those who manage daily burdens of one kind or another (chronic or acute illness, grief, mental health, loneliness, loss of abilities). We think specifically this week of: Tammy Ristow, Pastor Peter DeBruyne, Roland & Cheryl Vangameren, Anna Geuze, Delina & John Wiersma, Theresa Jongerden, Sylvia Vellinga, and Anna (Louise) Boele. May God give them each what they stand in need of. May God give wisdom and strength to those who walk alongside them. We also pray for those who are dealing with issues of which we are not aware.
Giving Thanks
The Camp Admin Team has started, planning and preparing for the summer. Camp brings a new energy to the church space. We give thanks for the wind of the Spirit that blows through the work and people of KidsCamp. We pray for Esther, Meagan, and Abby in their work and for Christine as she leads them. We pray for all the leaders and LITS and for the kids and families with whom we get to share Jesus’ love in this year’s “Kingdom Quest: An Epic Journey to Discover God’s Kingdom”.
As many of us celebrate Mother’s Day this weekend, we give thanks to God for the women in our lives who encourage, guide, nurture support, mentor, care for, walk alongside, and inspire us. We celebrate each of them… Happy Mother’s Day! We also pray for those for whom this day brings pain, or reminds them off loss, and for those parenting situations that contain hurt or strife. May God’s Shalom surround and sustain our parenting relationships.
As we head into a season of more intense gardening and landscaping maintenance, we give thanks for our Landscaping Crew!! They keep our grounds tidy, safe and beautiful and keep our costs down. Interested in helping them out? They can always use more helping hands. Contact: Paul Koorneef for more info. or to volunteer: paulkoornneef1@gmail.com
