Offering Prayers

Anna Geuze has been able to return to Deer Park after an extended stay in hospital. She is being assessed within the next few weeks in order to enable a new long-term care placement where she can receive more support.  We pray that the necessary steps will take place that that Anna will get the support she needs in the home of her choice. May Anna continue to know who walks with her through all of these challenges and changes.

Adrian Vander Vaart passed away peacefully at AgeCare in Burlington in his 94th year. Our condolences to his wife of 68 years, Susan (Alida), who moved to Burlington to AgeCare just last week to be reunited with her husband. Adrian and Susan were long-time New Street CRC members who moved to Shalom and attended Mountainview for the past five years or so. A memorial took place on Tuesday in Burlington. May God comfort and surround the Vander Vaart and Van Haarlem families and be particularly close to Susan through this loss and so many transitions. May God comfort all who mourn.

Pastor Peter De Bruyne passed away this past Monday at Shalom, peacefully and surrounded by family. The visitation was today (Friday) and the funeral is tomorrow @ 11:00 at Mountainview. Pastor Peter served in the CRC from 1963-1996, including at Mountainview and Shalom.  He had a pastoral/servant’s heart and gentle spirit. He will be dearly missed. We pray a blessing on the De Bruyne family as they say their final goodbyes and celebrate Pastor Peter’s life and legacy.  May God surround them and uphold them and give them peace and hope.

Please join us in holding up in prayer those who manage daily burdens of one kind or another (chronic or acute illness, grief, mental health, loneliness, loss of abilities). We think specifically this week of:  Metha Van der Beek, Roland & Cheryl Vangameren, Delina & John Wiersma, Theresa Jongerden, Reinhard Mech, Joyce Wheaton, and Connie & Henry Van Rooyen.  May God give them each what they stand in need of. May God give wisdom and strength to those who walk alongside them. We also pray for those who are dealing with issues of which we are not aware. 

Giving Thanks

Marguerite Termorshuizen has moved to Shalom Manor. She is in room 316 in Terraceview. We pray a blessing on her transition to the Shalom Manor community. We also pray for her and Gerry as they adapt to being apart.

This weekend, many of our youth and a few leaders are heading to Waterloo for another AOYC on the long weekend! Please pray for safety, social connections, and spiritual wellness for ALL people, including the many from Mountainview involved as volunteers, planning committee, and of course the YOUTH!! This event has been such a spiritual encouragement for youth over the years; may God bless this one too!
