Offering Prayers
We remember Theresa Jongerden as her caregivers work to manage her pain and symptoms while still enabling her to communicate and spend quality time with her family and friends. May God give them each what they need.
Anna Geuze has returned to WLMH and will likely stay there until she is placed in long-term care as she requires their support. Please continue to pray for Anna and her family in these challenges. Visits are encouraged and welcome (Room E-14)! Praying that the move to a more permanent home will occur quickly and that Anna will go to a place that is optimal for her and her family.
We pray for those dealing with new diagnosis or advancing/flaring chronic conditions. May there be healing where possible, may they have the access to necessary clinical treatments and health-care providers, may there be answers and direction for their care, may their symptoms be well controlled, may they be buoyed by community support and prayer, and may they know each day that God walks with them.
We pray for those who grieve. We have a number of families who have lost loved ones recently. One not yet mentioned here is the De Visser family who lost their oldest brother, Dave, in early May. Praying that God’s presence, comfort, and peace will be deeply felt by Peter & Jane and John & Sandra and their families as they have moved through goodbyes and are now going forward without their sibling.
Please join us in holding up in prayer those who manage daily burdens of one kind or another (chronic or acute illness, grief, mental health, loneliness, loss of abilities). We think specifically this week of: Anna Spoelstra, Nell Wielhouwer, Gerry & Marguerite Termorshuizen, Henk Heersink, Peter Zwart, and Arie Bijl. May God give them each what they stand in need of. May God give wisdom and strength to those who walk alongside them. We also pray for those who are dealing with issues of which we are not aware.
Giving Thanks
Our world belongs to God. Thanks be to God. This means that, despite pain, suffering, damage and mess, we can be thankful for what we do have and live and wait in the hope of His redemptive work unfolding, while at the same time adopting the role and responsibility of being its stewards (‘work-waiting’- Pastor Erick). May we be conscientious, just, empathetic, kind and generous as we work alongside our Creator with the help of the Spirit to bring renewal and shalom into God’s world.
Trudy Hofland moved into Albright Manor on Thursday. This is a welcome change but is turning out to be a hard transition. We pray for peace and grace for Trudy and her family as they navigate this move together. Trudy’s new contact information (already on the App) is: Rm # 207 West - 5050 Hillside Drive, Albright Manor; Beamsville L3J 2A7; 289-566-8919 (still getting activated). Visits are welcome!
We praise God for the fun, connection, and faith development at AOYC last weekend. Many thanks to the leaders who accompanied and led the group and to Erin and Corinne for their awesome photos (coming soon to the Events Board). We also give thanks and celebrate with the youth as they cap off their year with the Blanket Exercise this weekend, a year end BBQ at the DeGraaf’s on the 31st and the final Youth Talks of the year at Smithville CRC on June 7….and then SERVE in Alberta in July!!
