As mentioned in our January Update, as your Church Council and Board, these Leadership Updates are a means to improve upon and further our communication to each of you.

Read these updates to see what your Elders and Deacons are celebrating and who they are ministering to in the life of our church family.

Board Updates:

The Church Board approved the draft 2025–2026 budget and examined steps to support an upcoming refugee sponsorship, including a proposal for congregation-wide involvement. We also motioned for the completion of the required HVAC upgrades, joyfully received a government grant to support Kids Camp, and began preparations for welcoming new Council Members in May.

Elders Updates:

In April, the elders gathered to celebrate God’s faithfulness as we transition leadership this spring. We shared stories from our ministry, encouraged one another, and reflected on areas of strength and growth as we serve together.

Deacons Updates:

At February’s Deacons meeting, a considerable amount of time was spent discussing Benevolence; helping people at their level of need, and not what we perceive the need may be. We understand and believe that discerning Benevolence can be challenging, but know and trust that through God’s guiding hands we can be responsible stewards of the resources received from our congregation.

In April the Deacons spent some time looking back over the past year, reflecting on our experiences and how the year went, while looking forward to upcoming events. Specifically, the refugee family we're planning on sponsoring. We're excited to work with the congregation and support another family coming into Canada.
