Offering Details for May 2026
May 3rd – Friendship Ministries Canada: Our mission is to provide resources that support faith formation and congregational inclusion of individuals with disabilities. We envision a Canada where every person is welcomed, known, loved, and has a place to belong in the body of Christ. Our Friendship Group model helps churches welcome and support every member, promoting faith and a sense of belonging, no matter their abilities or challenges. Your kindness helps churches create friendly places where people can grow in faith, make friends, and experience belonging through Friendship Groups.
May 10th – Beginnings provides counselling and support to expectant parents experiencing unplanned pregnancies and assists people wishing to grow their families through adoption and embryo services. Offering hope and practical assistance to pregnant women and families in crisis while prioritizing the dignity and inclusion of all people is the foundation of our work. From the inception of our organization, Beginnings has sought to be a place where our Christian faith can be seen in the expression of compassion and love. Our core values hold us accountable to advocating for those who are vulnerable and building connections, for families to grow together. “At Beginnings, we believe that our connections to one another are our greatest strength. We believe in creating a space for everyone where families can imagine what is possible together.”
May 17th – Cairn Christian School: Our Cairn Christian School sites in Smithville and Stoney Creek work to inspire Grade K-8 students to love, learn, and lead together in God's world. This offering provides vital support in achieving this mission, enabling students and families the opportunity to access an amazing Christian Education, and communicates our love for their students. Thank you for your support and prayers.
May 24th – Benevolence - Refugee Sponsorship: Mountainview has a long history of sponsoring refugee families. World Renew has submitted paperwork to Immigration Canada on behalf of the Deacons to sponsor the Said family, originally from Somalia. Five adults in the family were forced to flee to Uganda after their farm was taken from them by a rival tribe and immediate family members were murdered. Our goal is to relocate the Said family out of the refugee camp and into a new life in Canada. Mountainview must provide proof that all required funds for sponsorship (approximately $90,000) are held in trust before representatives from Immigration Canada interview the family in the spring or early summer. (The funds will be paid out for resettlement over a one-year period). Approximately $60,000.00 has been raised to date, thanks to Mountainview’s previous donations, a $15,000 commitment from relatives living in Hamilton, and a significant contribution from Riverside CRC in Wellandport. We are confident that our love for God and our neighbour will move and inspire us to raise the remaining funds needed to begin the work that will change the life of the Said family. The Mountainview Deacons, together with the Said family, thank you for your generous support.
May 31st – DIG: Dream, Invest Grow aims to end the cycle of poverty and malnutrition in rural Guatemala through community empowerment. DIG’s humanitarian volunteers work on sustainable projects that build long-term dignity and hope within these communities by offering a hand up instead of a hand-out. With a focus on community well-being, DIG provides education opportunities for Mayan youth, medical services for families, spiritual support, and sustainable agriculture and nutrition systems for entire towns. DIG works alongside Mayan community members at the ground level to determine long-term solutions. Through DIG’s purposeful travel and mission trip programs, volunteers can create unforgettable personal experiences while making a long-term impact on these communities.
