MOUNTAINVIEW NEWS
Join us for Sunday morning at 10 am in person or online. Guest Pastor Kevin DeRaaf will present a message entitled “Resonating Everywhere”. He will be looking at 1 Thessalonians 1:1-10.
Not only do we see the gospel taking root in this small Christian community in Thessalonika, but it is spreading throughout the region. A resonating sound can be a picture of how the gospel has always moved and continues to move today through our own lives.
Also this morning we welcome our newest missionary Mwikali Wambua, to share about her life and work in Eastern Africa.

Groundwork: Prayer and Repentance - Most of us feel uncomfortable admitting our shame and our guilt when we make mistakes, but for Christians, it’s an important and valuable part of our faith life. Join our Groundwork conversation as we dig into Luke 11:4, John 1:8-10, Psalm 51, Mark 2:1-7, Daniel 9:4-19, and 1 John 5:13-15 to learn about prayers of repentance and why honest prayers of confession matter. Check out this week’s kids’ devotion, “When Things Go Wrong” at www.kidscorner.net. Have you ever made a big mistake? Have you ever said mean things to yourself? Sometimes we try our hardest, but things still don’t turn out the way we want. Colossians 3:12 reminds us of how much God loves us. As his children, God calls us to be gentle, kind, humble, meek, and patient. And that’s not just toward other people. It’s also toward ourselves. Check out the new Kids Corner Devotions app at https://kidscorner.net/app.
Thrive Faith Formation Tip - “Wondering questions” are an excellent way to engage kids (and people of all ages!) with Scripture. For example, after you read the creation story, ask open-ended questions like “I wonder what it looked like when God created the stars?” “I wonder what it would be like if there were no predators in our world?” “I wonder what you would feel like if you were the first person in God’s creation?” Take some time to read a favorite Bible passage this week, asking wondering questions to explore the text in a new way.
