MOUNTAINVIEW NEWS

Join us Sunday morning at 10 am in person or online as Pastor Erick Schuringa presents a message entitled “Jesus Will Be Back”, focused on the book of Acts chapter 1, verses 1-11.

Jesus' disciples stared at the sky when he had ascended and disappeared. They are told that "he will be back". This anticipation shapes the way we live. For Ascension Sunday we will consider what it looks like to live looking forward.

JOYFUL GIVING

Sunday’s offerings are for our Ministry Promise (a.k.a. Budget) AND for...

Grimsby Life Centre 2025 Hope Grows Here – Over 30% of our clients are seeking help related to anxiety, depression and stress. In an over connected world – people have never felt more alone and disconnected. Thank you for partnering with us in helping to restore healthy people and healthy families. We are here because of your generous donations. Thank you for partnering with us to bring help, hope and healing to our hurting neighbours!

Upcoming Offering:

June 8th A.M. – Shalom Manor & Gardens is a special Christian, non-profit long-term care home and retirement centre, serving seniors mostly of Dutch descent who belong to the community of Reformed faiths.  Limited government funding does not allow the services our seniors require that meet our expectations and standards.  Your gifts will enhance immediate resident care, programs, and debt load.

Please Note: Year End Ministry Promise Updates will be in your weekly emails under JOYFUL GIVING

Your Opinion Matters to World Renew! - As World Renew works to share Christ’s hope with communities struggling with hunger, poverty, and injustice, we seek out ways to improve, whether in our programming around the world or in our communications with you, our generous-hearted supporters. Opportunity: Prayer Gatherings for Synod! Dear friends, we have an unusual opportunity this spring. The annual gathering of CRC delegates from across North America ("Synod") usually takes place in Michigan, but this June it is coming to Redeemer University! One way we in southern Ontario can be gracious hosts is to surround these proceedings with prayer. Consider joining us in person at one or more of these pre-Synod events: Prayer Gathering Wed June 11, 9-5 at Grace Community CRC, Ancaster; Prayer Service Wed June 11, 7-8:30pm, also at Grace Ancaster; Prayer Walk Thurs June 12, 9-11am, Redeemer University. We would be so glad to pray with you. Sign up here to help us plan food/seating.

Kids Corner Devotions: Is This Show Good for Me? - Check out this week’s kids’ devotion “Is This Show Good for Me?” at www.kidscorner.net. God wants us to focus on things that are good and true, but sometimes it’s hard to know what’s best to watch, read, or play. We can ask for wisdom by thinking about how a story matches God’s truth and how it affects our hearts and actions. Check out all the great content at kidscorner.net, like The Summertime Collection, full of coloring pages, crafts, and activity books.

Thrive Faith Formation Tip - “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it” (Psalm 24:1). Now more than ever, it’s important for us to continue to heal our relationship with God’s beautiful creation through our worship, personal actions, and advocacy for the flourishing of the Creator’s handiwork. As World Environment Day (June 5) is celebrated this week, consider how you and your family can lean into our moral responsibility to care for God’s creation. Think of five commitments you can make toward this goal. Brought to you by Thrive: crcna.org/Thrive
