MOUNTAINVIEW NEWS
Join us Sunday morning at 10 am in person or online. Pastor Erick Schuringa continues the series “Hanging Out with the Holy Spirt” with a 6th message “The Word Spreads. He will be looking at the book of Acts chapter 2, verse 1-11.
Pentecost and the pouring out of the Holy Spirit is finally about spreading the Word about Jesus. The Spirit always points to Jesus and so as marvelous and shocking as the Holy Spirit can be, the point is that the story of Jesus is received.
LET’S BUILD SOME COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS!

JOYFUL GIVING
Sunday’s offerings are for our Ministry Promise (a.k.a. Budget) AND for...
Upcoming Offering:
May 31st – Benevolence - Refugee Sponsorship: Mountainview has a long history of sponsoring refugee families. World Renew has submitted paperwork to Immigration Canada on behalf of the Deacons to sponsor the Said family, originally from Somalia. Five adults in the family were forced to flee to Uganda after their farm was taken from them by a rival tribe and immediate family members were murdered. Our goal is to relocate the Said family out of the refugee camp and into a new life in Canada. Mountainview must provide proof that all required funds for sponsorship (approximately $90,000) are held in trust before representatives from Immigration Canada interview the family in the spring or early summer. (The funds will be paid out for resettlement over a one-year period). Approximately $60,000.00 has been raised to date, thanks to Mountainview’s previous donations, a $15,000 commitment from relatives living in Hamilton, and a significant contribution from Riverside CRC in Wellandport. We are confident that our love for God and our neighbour will move and inspire us to raise the remaining funds needed to begin the work that will change the life of the Said family. The Mountainview Deacons, together with the Said family, thank you for your generous support.
Grimsby Life Centre invites you to participate in Hope Grows Here. This campaign is about planting seeds of hope by supporting counselling and care for individuals and families who are walking through difficult seasons. Each gift helps provide steady, compassionate support and reminds people that they are not alone. “I planted the seed… but God has been making it grow.” — 1 Corinthians 3:6 To participate you can give online through www.grimsbylife.org or send an e-transfer to office@grimsbylife.org. Please include a short message of hope in the message line that we can share with our clients! Thank you for being part of the work God is doing in our community!
Gratitude Giving from Mother’s Day to Father’s Day - From Mother’s Day to Father’s Day we hope you will join us in our special campaign giving honour to mothers, fathers, omas, opas, grandmas, grandpas, aunts or uncles, or a loved one. We invite you to take part in our Blooms of Honour, a campaign dedicated to enhancing our courtyard through the creation of more accessible seating areas in our existing gardens at Shalom Grimsby and/or the new courtyard in Faithstone Hamilton.
As a symbol of honour, the name of a parent, grandparent or friend can be written on a paper tulip in recognition of the gifts received. These tulips will adorn the glass windows to form our “Garden of Honour”. Thank you for your support.
You can view more online at https://shalommanor.ca/blooms-of-honour/. Feel free to reach out to Janet deVries to learn more at 905.945.9631 x. 1172 or jdevries@shalommanor.ca.
