Offering Prayers

Henk Heersink went to the hospital last week and returned home yesterday (Thursday). Thank you for your prayers and support. We pray for continued relief from pain, peace and strength for Henk.

On Sept 12, Annie Boekestyn celebrated the birth of her second great grandchild, a girl. Mom and daughter are home and doing well. Then Sept 13, Annie suddenly lost her son, David. A brother to Rose Devries (Scott). Please pray for the family as they celebrate and grieve simultaneously. May they be assured that God walks with them in the middle of it all. Coby Vandersteen, mother of Rob Vandersteen & (BJ Vander Plaat) passed away peacefully last Friday. She was 93, and ready to go home, but it’s still difficult. She was an incredible woman and will be sorely missed. Her family and friends grieved and celebrated her life together earlier this week. We pray for continued comfort, strength and peace as they move forward without Coby. Coby’s obituary is linked here.

Rene Louter, daughter of Gert & Hinke and sister to Henny, Hans, & Cinde, is undergoing open heart surgery on September 23rd. We pray for peace in the waiting, success for the surgery, and strength, patience and healing for the recovery.

We pray a blessing on our kids and leaders as another season of Youth Ministry begins with camping.  Praying for safety, fun, connection, and growth together.

Please join us in holding up in prayer those who manage daily burdens of one kind or another (chronic or acute illness, grief, mental health, loneliness, loss of abilities). We think specifically this week of:  Arie Bijl, Peter Zwart, Anna DeBruyne (Jr), Stien Ritskes, and Henny & John Vanderkolk. May God give them each what they stand in need of. May God give wisdom and strength to those who walk alongside them. We also pray for those who are dealing with issues of which we are not aware.

Giving Thanks

Come and celebrate together the work begin done by DIG in Guatemala, and come connect with Geoff & Rita to show your support and care for them and their work!

We give thanks for Taryn as we welcome her into her new role as our Worship Intern!  We pray that we may be blessed by her gifts and that she may, in turn, be blessed by our community.  May we grow together!

We give thanks for the productive busyness, visioning, listening prayer, planning, meeting and organizing that has gone into preparing for a new beginning for our many ministries at Mountainview.  We praise God for a new ministry year, the palpable energy after a summer break, passion for various areas, capable, gifted leaders, a beautiful space to work with, and the invested people who engage with our ministries.  We pray that we all may continue to lean into God’s leading in the year ahead.
