Offering Prayers
We sadness we share that Ron Timmerman passed on Thursday July 16th, at the age of 64, he went to be with his Lord. Our condolences to his wife Shirley, sister Jean & Paul Koornneef and in-Laws Sylvia & Dave Vangoch and their extended family as they mourn the loss of a much-loved husband & brother, father and friend. May they know and experience God's presence, peace, comfort and hope in the days and weeks ahead.
Greetings from John and Deanna Geuze. We are grateful for your concern, prayers and encouragement for my mother Anna Geuze during these past few years. She would love a card or a visit if you're in the area even though she may not recognize most of you anymore. We thank those who have been a light in her world. If anyone wants to visit or send a card here is her address: Linhaven, 403 Ontario St, St. Catharines, ON L2N1L5 Rm#6 bed#2 Dalhousie wing.
We lift Anna up to the Lord, praying she will settle in quickly, feeling loved and at home in her new environment.
Rina Van Tellingen has been moved to the satellite hospital facility in Hamilton located on 150 King Street East. She's on the second floor in room 201. We ask for your prayers that her spirits might be lifted and she would feel companioned by God as she recovers. We also ask that you consider visiting her if you have time.
Shirley Bergshoeff had a fall this week on Sunday. She is in WLMH having some tests done. Please pray for God to give her rest and reassurance of His loving care. Pray for wisdom for the medical team and the family as they consider next steps for care.
We continue to pray for the people of Venezuela, families who are grieving, injured or displaced persons, medical teams, rescue workers, relief organizations and leaders. May God give peace, strength, wisdom, grace in great hardship, and comfort. May God have mercy.
We lift up in prayer the brave firefighters and first responders working on the front lines to contain these wildfires. May God grant them strength, endurance, and wisdom as they make difficult choices. Protect them from the smoke and flames. We pray for the people in danger, and for calming winds and gentle rain to help end the fires. We pray for the many who are affected by smoke & haze caused by the fires. Lord, bring comfort to those who struggle to breathe. Open their lungs and calm their airways so they can rest. We especially remember those who are unhoused and have no respite from the haze and heat. Lord, have mercy.
Please join us in holding up in prayer those who manage daily burdens of one kind or another (chronic or acute illness, grief, mental health, loneliness, loss of abilities). We think specifically this week of: Cheryl & Roland Vangameren, Rina VanTellingen, Henk Heersink, Arie Bijl, Anna DeBruyne (Jr.), Stien Ritskes, Jenny Smit, and Anne Fisher. May God give them each what they stand in need of. May God give wisdom and strength to those who walk alongside them. We also pray for those who are dealing with issues of which we are not aware
In Loving Memory: We continue to remember the lives of those who have gone before us and give God thanks for the love and blessing they were our lives. We pray for God’s continued comfort and peace to surround those who mourn the loss of loved ones.
Giving Thanks
We give thanks for the safe arrival home of Simon Isaac Van Geest, born June 30, 2026
“We spent 1 week in the London Hospital NICU while Simon’s lungs developed so that he could breath on his own. He also then needed to learn how to feed on his own. We were thankful to have a room in Ronald McDonald house so that Petra and I could be close to Simon. Also thankful for the outpouring of prayer, love and support from our family, friends. and church for all of the child care, meals, transportation, etc. Petra and I have been continually humbled over the last 2 weeks as we have seen God work in incredible ways and remind us that He is holding us all in the palm of his hand.
Simon continues to struggle a bit with breathing, but the doctors are saying that will likely be short term and resolve itself in the next couple of weeks.
Thank you again to our Mountainview family for supporting us through this time!
Greg and Petra Van Geest”
Along with Greg and Petra we give thanks for God’s loving care of Simon and pray that he continues to grow strong and healthy.
KIDS CAMP: As we look ahead to science week, we pray that the campers and staff are filled with excitement to explore some of the incredible details of God’s creation. We pray for the health of campers and staff as we enter into a new week.
We give thanks for Kevin Stieva’s Chaplaincy work in Kingston. He and Jackie are thankful to be settled closer to their family there. Kevin is thankful to use his gifts to develop the work of Chaplains and to support Chaplains in the armed forces. May God continue to bless their family and their ministry.
